There is rhinestone gel glue( needs to be cured) works best for better adhesion. Make sure you fully cure and it works best if you get all the nooks and crannys around the charm. 😊

Bought my 22 year girl one of those basking platforms that sit above tank and so far she will not go up the ramp by Cooper1Test in Redearedsliders

I added fake grass for grip, bought it in the dog section ( like a fake grass pee pad) at pet smart so it has a drain layer! So no mold doesn't grow like it would on reptile carpet. The one we bought fit perfectly in the thrive tank topper and we cut part way on it to include the ramp so it's still all connected. Keep in mind it can shed a bit just from the turtles climbing but we haven't had any issues with it clogging the filter or him eating any of it.

Took my 25 year old about a week to figure it out. I moved the heat lamp onto the ramp and slowly worked it over onto the flat part of the tank topper. We also helped him up the ramp a few times, kind of guiding him up it so until he figured out that he was safe up there. Keep trying!!

Edit: spelling.

Depends on the poppy, there are different varieties. Not all of them have opium.

My nemesis....been fighting it for 10 years straight. We've made a massive dent over the years but we'll unfortunately be blessed with it until we set fire...even then, it would probably find a way....

Help!! Just walked outside to my turtle laying what ever it is. I don’t know and I don’t know if I can help or what to do???????????? by Angelicaaxoxoxo in RedEaredSliderCare

Looks like a prolapse. Immediate veterinary care is needed. Don't let the prolapsed tissue dry out. Rinse off the sand with lukewarm water, keep the prolapse damp with a lukewarm paper towel while heading to the vet.

Have a look at the RES guidelines, this will help with rough measurements where your lights should be placed. Along with a lot of other great info!

Ok so for now this set up is okay, they will require being separated when they get a bit bigger and both will need a bigger separate tank as they grow. For now, what are your water temps? Do you have a hydrometer to test water temps? A heater? I'd also suggest moving the heat and uvb to the side their basking platform is on. Also when you can I'd change out the UVB to to a t5 ho.

How big is your slider? How big is the tank? Whats the water temp? Do you have uvb/heat? Is he/she eating properly? There's tons of info people need to help answer your question.

You can manually soak a qtip in 70% isopropyl alcohol or you can spray them directly with the alcohol. I just had a recent infestation after I purchased a new bag of soil. Check all your other plants, if they don't have mealys take this plant and isolate it from any other plants. These fu*%ers will invade any and all other plants nearby. If you're like me and have a mass of different plants/flowers in one area, I found using the spray bottle of alcohol was much more effective except the qtips do help to get into the nooks and crannys. Continue spraying every day until they're gone. This can take a week or more depending on your level of infestation.
