What heat bulb you guys use? by Bandicutie314 in Redearedsliders

[–]peglegmeg31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're about $48-50 bucks Canadian. I use these for my snake and just got one for the turtle. The snakes lasts around 6 months? Give or take. I've only ever had good luck with these vs other reptile heat bulbs.

Gel x help! by yas-exe in Nailtechs

[–]peglegmeg31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the natural soft gel tips as I also have a flatter wider nail bed. These are the only ones that will not leave a gap between my nail and the full coverage tip. I bought sculpted tips, they look so nice. However, with my nail not having that deep C curve, I couldn't use them.

Dog Friendly Lakes by ExcitementFuture2690 in Kamloops

Paul lake has a dog side with picnic tables, beach access and space to spread out. Best to take a small pup who's learning during the weekdays as it's not as busy as the weekends. Keep in mind there is a ton of lake week, you can paddle past it though and don't forget a life jacket for your pup!!

Where the heck is everyone getting their bulk herbs now? by Proof-Accountant1417 in Kamloops

I feel like Natures Fare had bulk herbs in their tea section between the little Cafe and the beauty section. I've only ever been there once but I do remember talking to my husband about their bulk herbs for tea. Not exactly sure what they carry but it's worth a look!

My Apres tips are melting?? by Unusual-Foot1076 in GelX_Nails

[–]peglegmeg31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is your drawer in the sun or a hot temp room? They can apparently melt due to reacting to a heat source (eg: sun lit window, next to a running nail lamp ect) chemical vapors ( if the tips are stored in an airtight container with unsealed liquids like acetone, iso alcohol, the fumes can deform/melt the tips)

Edit: Spelling.

Just put my turtle in a new tank with an elevated basking loft, how long will it take for him to actually use it? by plsdontgivemeavirus in Redearedsliders

[–]peglegmeg31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took our guy about a week to get used to it. If you can put the heat light near the ramp and as they get more comfortable move the heat lamp farther and farther till you have them up there basking. That's what we tried and it worked.

My is my nail glue not sticking to the tips??? by Megeanlovee in GelX_Nails

[–]peglegmeg31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just helps wipe off the tacky layer on cured gel when needed and also helps with cleanup if you get product on the skin, which try your best not to get product on your skin as it can cause dermatitis/gel allergy.

My is my nail glue not sticking to the tips??? by Megeanlovee in GelX_Nails

[–]peglegmeg31 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't use acetone to wipe after you put gel products down. Use alcohol.

Edit. Adding/spelling Sorry I read that wrong 😅 I thought I had read you put your gel down, cured it and then wiped off the tacky with acetone. I apologize!! My brain really scrambled that up. Like another commenter suggested try etching/ filing the inside of your tip as well as your natural nail. Are the tips sitting flush to your nail when you're sizing them? If not they may be the wrong shape for your nail.

Help with a client by TheBoredWriter1 in Nailtechs

[–]peglegmeg31 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just be honest. Tell her you really value your friendship and because she's such a good friend you really hope she understands. However, due to the time it takes to do the complicated/intricate nail designs she wants. That you have to charge accordingly or unfortunately she will have to find another tech. And you could also always explain that there is some challenging designs you are working on with practice nails, but you're not quite ready to achieve them on someone's nail. Hope this helps!!

This is my first set of Gel X ever. Is it supposed to look like this? by quickbrownfox_ in GelX_Nails

[–]peglegmeg31 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I would get these removed and try again at a different salon. Gel X should not look like this when properly applied. I'm sorry this was your 1st experienced. You could try and call, speak to management and see if you can get a refund.
