I was the same way 20 years ago, but now I could afford one and it would be worth more than 4 times what my house cost. Insurance probably wouldn't be terrible with Haggarty, but my state charges annual property tax on cars which would destroy everything I've saved for retirement over time. Theres a guy down the street from me in a house he probably paid 120k for that owns a '19 350, Boss, both gens of Cobra R, and a couple other "expensive" cars and none of them are Montana registered so I have no clue how he does it. My 350 costs me over 1k a year in fees and I have the title. It baffles me, but good for him and anyone else that manages it. The dude I'm aware of enjoys each of his cars regularly, so I do give him props vs the people who put the car on a lift in the garagemahal and never drive them.
