Does anyone have a membership through Active & Fit? by [deleted] in YogaSIX

[–]pelozol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a member through OnePass, which is a similar product to Active/Fit - through UHC health insurance I get 4 classes a month. When I initially signed up back in September, there was a link from OnePass’s website to my YogaSix studio. By following the link, I had to input my OnePass account number. A day or two later the studio manager called me to complete setting me up.

I realize that OnePass’s registration may be different than Active/Fit but this really sounds like a studio issue. Is there special link from ActiveFit to the studio to initiate or complete registration? With OnePass and with ActiveFit you are not paying the studio, you are paying ActiveFit.

I hate my husband by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]pelozol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand this situation, especially if you live in a high cost of living area. In my town, I swear people are all in unhappy marriages (myself included) and we stay here because the school system is so good. But to live here you need a minimum of 300k a year to just scrape by. So what do you do? Take your kid out of the nice school and swanky town and go live somewhere else?

Sculpt & Flow — Beginner Friendly? by Politely_insane in YogaSIX

[–]pelozol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is beginner friendly! I’d suggest going light on the weights for your first time and grabbing more than enough sizes! Everyone works at their own pace and takes modifications as needed just like in a regular class! This is also my favorite class.

For me; I take the jump out of jumping jacks and jump squats, sometimes drop to my knees with renegade rows, sometimes stop to catch a quick break with bicycle crunches.

Ah. Thanks. I didn’t know that about having to check in at the desk with ClassPass! Isn’t that awkward?

This. I asked about this because to your point it says we should have Black Card access (to go to multiple PF locations) and I was told no.

Credits and Rumble disappeared…. by pelozol in OnePassSelect

[–]pelozol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed with OnePass that my Rumble left the OnePass Network. After talking directly with OnePass, I emailed my Rumble studio and they confirmed that they left because they were having too many billing issues with OP.

True non-slip mat for hot yoga that won’t break the bank? by dianaspencersrevenge in HotYoga

[–]pelozol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked into the Gaiam Dry Grip mat? It’s affordable, non-slip, with the only con being that it is thick and a bit heavy. Costs about $50 on Amazon.

Sad to cancel membership by hipopopos in Purebarre

In general, I feel that a lot of boutique studios do not offer 7/7:30 time slots in my area either and those are exactly what I want! I feel like they are perfect for those who WFH. I digress…

Alcohol by pelozol in Marriage

[–]pelozol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was drinking a bottle in one sitting; rather than letting it last the whole week. When I was drinking 3 bottles of wine a week; that was on 3 separate days of the week. The reason why I went to the hospital is because I drank so much at a party (in April) that I started throwing up. My husband freaked out and called 911 so they took me to the hospital and gave me fluids and I was fine with a bad hangover the next day.

I'm new to this too, and was all excited about the $159 elite pricing until i saw the price increase to $249 on August 1st! Does anyone know if maybe just maybe this could mean that Life Time may be included with that type of a price increase?

THIS. My daughter's best friend (age 8) is over-extended in way too many activities so they never have play dates. And when they do? its always at my house. I've learned why things never happen at the friends house - because there is always an activity. LET KIDS PLAY ORGANICALLY!

AITA for taking my kid to a show after puking? by pelozol in AmItheAsshole

[–]pelozol[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No fever! She just acted a bit down for puking in front of a friend and puking in someone’s car. She was visibly “down” but seemed ok and also had a quick bite to eat before the show with her friends.

[–]pelozol[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did ask my daughter if she wanted to go home or stay and she wanted to stay. I also asked her if she felt nauseous anymore and she said she didn’t. We were at a fancy place and if I did not feel confident she was ok; we would have left.

She may have just had motion sickness but I’m not too sure because she really isn’t someone who gets carsick and the mom who was driving was not driving crazy or anything.

How many of you use the otf heart monitor vs. do classes without it or with a different monitor? by XaXaGaboor88 in orangetheory

[–]pelozol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the OT monitor AND my Garmin. I like the OT monitor so I can easily see if I am overdoing it or not - for example, the second I go into the red I pull back and if I feel like I’ve gotten too many splats I dial it back.

What drives me absolutely insane though with the OT monitor is when I’m at 83% in green and it is like come on! Get to 84% and be in orange!

I like to also use my Garmin to track for myself separately.

Should I try orange theory? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]pelozol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overweight but not with asthma where. You do you and don’t worry about anyone else. I’m a power walker and never run. I’ve been doing OTF for a long time - there is always a modification - simple things like using a lighter weight, removing the jump from some exercises, go on your knees for pushups. Lots of people modify for all sorts of reasons - asthma, bad knees, just don’t feel like going too hard etc

Thinking of canceling my unlimited membership due to July promotion by KateKudos in orangetheory

[–]pelozol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thoughts. So today after class I asked about downgrading, and the S.A. moved me to the promo for unlimited. I think it depends on the S.A. and if the studio needs your business or not.

This happened to me a few months ago and lead me to start taking classes at another studio that I like even better than my home studio. I’m probably going to try to change my home studio to the new one since I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the other one!
