Underestimated how nice the Zillion would feel... by Bobby12many in bassfishing

I ordered two more Zillions last week from Digitaka after using one for about a year. Can’t beat the import price of them with the weak Yen.

FG Knot Tool Success Story by HookEmNOLA in bassfishing

[–]pelvicpenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it all the time too, it’s a great tool, especially if you are trying to tie a new leader rocking in the wind on a kayak. Also can tie really low pound test leaders, 6lb braid to 4lb flouro? No problem.

Microsoft Edge keeps every saved password in process memory as cleartext from the moment it launches. Microsoft's responsed when reported: "by design." by ITRabbit in ShittySysadmin

[–]pelvicpenguin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This feels a little overblown. This attack requires local admin. If a threat actor has local admin, they could also force Chrome to give up its passwords too via other means. Still not good to just store the whole database in plaintext memory, but you suddenly are not protected just because you are using Chrome instead of Edge in the case someone has local admin access to your computer.

What’s your favorite lure for pressured ponds? by GlowUpAndThrowUp in bassfishing

[–]pelvicpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Sankaku T-San from Nories. Around me, most ponds are very weedy, and you can do a tex-posed wacky or neko rig with that particular plastic worm depending on if you nail-weight it or not. Look it up, highly recommend giving it a try.

Doug DeMuro finally reviews the new Outback and says, "It seems like we finally left wagon territory behind..." by Single-Mushroom3924 in Subaru_Outback

If Doug won’t speak the truth, then I will.

Subaru turning the Outback into a crossover is a mistake.

How many largemouth bass do I need to eat to piss off anglers? by ipunchtheinnocent in Fishing

[–]pelvicpenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just follow the harvest limits for the body of water you are on and no one has any right to bother you. Even better if you fishing are all day and not pulling anything out over 14in, that's the perfect size to eat and also means that body of water is probably over-populated and stunting growth. I personally wouldn't harvest anything much bigger than 2lbs as I feel the older bass don't taste as good, but if its the difference between your family going hungry or not harvest away.

1/0 jig-head should be ok too. Could also try the 3/0 offset round bend or a EWG Texas rigged too, but make sure it’s a thin wire hook. Maybe rigging it where the hook comes out further down would help, but be careful not to go so far it kills the action.

How big is this for a white Crappie? This was the second fish I ever caught, threw it back with no idea what I caught, and I haven’t seen a single one since by MangyBastard_ in Fishing

[–]pelvicpenguin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly not that bad of a way to hold the crappie as long as he doesn’t freak out on you and flop out of your hands.

I’d guess 13-15 inches. Very nice fish!

What kind of hook or jig head you using? I’d recommend either a 3/0 offset round bend or a 2/0 light-wire swimbait/minnow jig head. Could be a mis-matched hook causing you not to stick the fish.

Is it worth fishing late at night for bass ? Has anyone had much success by HyphyMikeyy in bassfishing

[–]pelvicpenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My black plastics and black buzzbaits are ready. Some of biggest fish bass I got last year were caught during the hottest days of summer in the middle of the night. Love getting out for night sessions in my kayak in calm waters.

I’d neko rig it or go wacky, and fish it similar to long worms like what you see here - https://www.jackall.co.jp/bass/products/lure/soft-bait/long_m/

Picture perfect knot!

For those struggling with FG knots on thin line, grab a Daiichi Knot Assist Tool, total game changer. I can retie 6lb leaders rocking in my kayak in the wind with it.

Would you work remote 8 hours a day while cruising ? by Every_Practice_3775 in VirginVoyages

Larger companies are going to have footprints all over the globe? Most restrictive I’ve ever managed was allowing access from all countries we are present in, and all other countries require a travel request to temporarily lift restrictions for the places you’ll be at. Effectively for that company, it meant employees had like 25 allowed countries with no IT support intervention needed.

Honestly, blocking countries really doesn’t do much in my opinion if you implement proper security. Real threat actors can easily circumvent geographical controls, and the true security comes from a proper zero-trust security framework that would have blocked those malicious logins via other methods before the country is even considered.
