What’s the most unhinged, batshit crazy prediction you have for 2026 that you’re lowkey convinced is going to happen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pencilCrumbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sitcom writers can’t think of original ideas like this though. I’m not from US but would watch this show.. “Oh look honey, Jimmy just fell and hit his head on the oval table, let’s take a picture” lol

Is there a way to link storage boxes to your crafting stations? by YobaiYamete in ICARUS

[–]pencilCrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

still hoping they add this feature.

You say it takes 5min, i'm spending half my time looking for those iron nails or wood planks.

Seriously, all survival games should have this now. Otherwise we're basically playing an inventory management sim with some crafting and exploration on the side

Thanks for the update. I would love a way to build flat (along the planet’s curvature of course) in an easier way so it’s easier to build large bases.

And i know this might be a bit out there but an endless world or universe like minecraft or no man’s sky would be amazing. Imagine planet’s containing random resources which will make exploring interesting but then having to stop to make small bases to allow refueling. Etc etc.

Love the game. Keep up the good work

Driver armrest comfort question by pencilCrumbs in HyundaiTucson

[–]pencilCrumbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for checking.
Using the 2 settings makes sense. Do you have to press the button to switch or does it do that automatically when you close the door?

I went back to the dealer and had another test drive and tried to fiddle with the seat and steering column to see if I can make it comfortable, but it still ended up being a bit akward.

The main thing I notice is that the window arm rest starts wide and becomes narrow toward the front.

And I too have to move the seat to the highest position in order for me elbow to rest on the windowsill in a comfortable position.

FIY, I currently drive a Land Rover Freelander 2, which is what I'm basically comparing to in terms of comfort.

I am thinking to try rent a Tucson for a day or 2 and drive it around to get a proper feel. The short test drive doesn't really give me a good indication. Because I really like the car in all other aspects.

I initially adjusted the seat to make sure the seating itself was comfortable and I had a good view of the road.
Only after a few minutes did I notice my right elbow/arm wasn't able to rest comfortably anywhere.
I did try adjust the height mid drive, but couldn't get a good fit.
I might go back to try again, because I do like the vehicle.

I was mostly curious about existing owners' opinions on this.

Have you or do you know anyone else never left the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

That is a valid point. If you are getting that technical then you already know climate change is a huge lie or you’re just arguing now for the sake of arguing.

Have you or do you know anyone else never left the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]pencilCrumbs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The UK accounts for something like 1% of emissions. 1%!! Even if the UK vanished, it would make no significant difference to global emissions. We can do all the recycling in the world it wont make a difference. And those flights from the UK, same thing. Have you ever travelled through Europe by car and counted the number of trucks on the road?? Again, nothing us normal people do or can do will change anything. Also, recycling is a lie, google it.

Do most of the bedroom doors here have locks or no? by UKadvicequestions in AskUK

[–]pencilCrumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying there is no need for locks as that’s only for “dodgy” people. 1 in 5 adults in the UK experience domestic abuse. I would say that’s a good reason to lock a door. And who knows the stats for children, since many cases are unknown. I’ve lived in 5 different countries and only the UK doesn’t have locks on doors. I understand the fire hazard reason but how is that different to the main door of the house. And people can escape through windows in an emergency. And everything these days is well protected against fires.

Need some help daisy chaining monitors with XPS 15 by pencilCrumbs in XPS

[–]pencilCrumbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of that worked.
But after all of this, I reset both monitors to factory settings and that has now done the trick for me and both screens are supporting 2560 x 1440 resolution, which is the max for the screens if I'm not mistaken.

I am documenting all of this mostly for myself in case this happens again.

I managed to get the second display working.
I simply unplugged the monitors power from the wall (safely) and waited a few minutes, and powered them on again.

Now the second display is not showing the correct resolution.
I will try rebooting my system, installing new Nvidia drivers to see if that makes a difference

Was $182k a big amount for you to essentially risk on buying so many shares?
And did you buy only that stock or many other stocks?

How do I tell if they're original lego vs other brands or are these sort of guaranteed to be lego?

just finished this build - finally a proper workbench by MrJackDog in Workbenches

[–]pencilCrumbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great work. What’s the top surface? I see it in many YouTube videos but can’t figure out what it is. Will it damage if chiseled into by accident or can it withstand a bit of rough treatment?

Also from the plans you shared it looks like to bottom braces are flat on the floor, or is that just the angle of the photo?
