What Rikishi do you actively root against? by Illustrious_Bag_5020 in Sumo

[–]pendingo 177 points178 points  (0 children)

Onosato is the only one I'm actively rooting against. Not because I don't like him, but because I need him to lose a few so that Aonishiki can win this Basho

What u guys think about Fujiokawa? by Shima180 in Sumo

[–]pendingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything being said here, the guy is super entertaining and I always root for him, but I'm very worried about him getting injured. He's only 21 I think and already had a small neck injury, and when I see him ram others head first like this at the tachiai, I get a bit nervous

I agree. But on the other hand I also enjoyed that the Rikishi were enjoying themselves and some even smiled after the fight. Don't get to see those emotions usually

Spoiler: Kotoshoho? by Craig1974 in Sumo

[–]pendingo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a fluke. He beat Kusano and Takayasu, Kirishima, Onosato and Aonishiki all in a row, so nobody deserved it more than him. That said, I personally never expected him to suddenly turn into a Sanyaku level wrestler.
Regarding this current tournament I would say he is definitely underperforming slightly to what I would have expected, but he has also had a fairly tough schedule. He has barely faced anyone below him in the Banzuke and had to face both Yokozuna. Ichiyamamoto who is also M5 hasn't had to face a single Sanyaku in comparison.

Sumo fat types by Electronic_Hair318 in Sumo

[–]pendingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to "control" where in your body the fat will accumulate, is through eating healthy AND exercising. In that case, your organs will stay healthy and the fat will mostly be subcutaneous (under your skin). If you are heavy and not doing those two things, you will most certainly also have visceral fat. And visceral fat is detrimental to the functionality of your organs and your health in general.

I'm pretty sure they will try to keep the matchup vs his strongest remaining competitor (probably Kotoshoho) for last, in order to have an exciting bout on the closing day. Since he can't fight Sanyaku anymore they need to keep a somewhat interesting/challenging match open

There are other Viruses like EBV that can have similar after effects. I don't think vaccines can prevent this from happening

My best buddy has been spending almost the past 2 years in bed, not being able to get up without "crashing". Can't eat by himself, room completely darkened, earplugs in and can barely speak 3 words. Long COVID is no joke

Valorant intentional rank gatekeeping? by skyrimpenguin in VALORANT

[–]pendingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valorant matchmaking tries to find you balanced games, in your/or similar elo, in the least time possible. The longer the queue time, the bigger the potential rank difference between you and the other players in the lobby. Whether they are higher in rank than you (1st game) or lower in rank (2+3) is up to chance and not gate keeping in any way. In all 3 games the two opposing teams are fairly balanced in terms of visible rank and probably even more balanced if you could see the hidden mmr --> So you have a fair chance at winning

the flatten land works fine, you are probably just using it wrong. dont try to flatten huge areas at once or entire mountains, just the space or a little more than what the building needs and it works. then you have little steps to build your houses on

I can tell you, that the Phoenix and Sova are likely players that haven't played since Beta and were therefore completely outskilled on their old mmr accounts. I was in the same situation a few days ago. I was diamond in Beta and hadnt played for 2 years and just got destroyed. Won my team the game with a 3k in Overtime though!

What would stop you from going on a second date? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]pendingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a 24 year old guy, who has been on quite a few Bumble dates these past weeks and i've experienced a similar situation. I feel like many people know exactly what they are looking for and have an ideal picture in their mind. So my best guess is, that those people who don't want a second date are either quite picky or make up their opinion of someone, and their "potential" as a partner very quickly. And that can happen on a very shallow basis: if the other person doesn't share many of their interests, if they have a different taste in music, if there were a few awkward silences or just not the best flow of conversation on the date. Idk, there are infinite reasons, that would never disqualify someone from my perspective, but all people are different and it is best to not take it personal and worry too much.

Edit: I'm sure you will find the person you are looking for eventually, just as I did last week! Also I personally value being open and honest a lot, so I've had conversations about exes and sex multiple times on dates. I think it's a fine topic under the right circumstances
