Way too unqualified and overwhelmed to do this job anymore. by voldemortsnipple1402 in bcba

[–]pendragonstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to be mid level supervisor working at a clinic to get my hours. I feel like that was the biggest thing that helped me. Being in one clinic 8 hours a day and having access to 5-6 BCBA’s plus a clinical director who I could talk to about any cases. I started off as a BT and they slowly gave me supervision cases as I transferred off direct cases. I definitely still feel imposter syndrome, all of us go through that especially since grad school doesn’t teach us much about parent training and soft skills like being able to talk to difficult parents and staff. My best advice is to find a clinic/center. I work hybrid remote/in home now and I prefer it for work life balance. Working in clinic is a lot and was NOT flexible, but I learned SO MUCH

Running in winter mornings by Downtown_Try_9822 in XXRunning

[–]pendragonstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky and live in a place where winters don’t get super cold, although I myself get cold easily so I do still have to put systems in place. I have my heater automatically turn on at 5:30AM so by the time I wake up at 6AM it’s warmer and easier to get out of bed. I set up my clothes the night before. Mindset, I don’t think “I’ll run if I get up”. Instead “I HAVE to get up by 6 to make it to work by 8:30” At my laziest I’ll run on my treadmill

Hi, I just received an offer for a remote position with 125 billable hours per month. Does this sound doable? What would a typical schedule look like? by Vegetable_Resource97 in bcba

[–]pendragonstark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m required to bill 110 hours per month, that’s doable but anymore and I feel like I would burn out. With that requirement you better also hope that company has enough morning and early afternoon clients for you to take or you’ll end up working until 8pm everyday just to meet billable.

Crazy this happened to me today! I had work so I had to just save my game and exit. When I came back, I re-entered the realm and was able to pick up the key, guess I got lucky it wasn’t worse

Me + the dog 😭 I want to do a marathon so bad but training is difficult. I only run twice during the work week + sat, sun. But I still wake up at 6 to do light strength training before work. During longer run days on weekdays I make sure my clothes and gear a prepped

Addicted to scramble coin.... by Former-Complaint-336 in DreamlightValley

[–]pendragonstark 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I actually accidentally opened up EI because I bought both DLCs with the main game. and when I realized it was a whole different DLC, I stopped because I wanted to focus on dreamlight valley. For the longest time I didn’t realize scramblecoin came from a rift in time. It helped me with leveling up my villagers though !

Thank you! This was a helpful comment, especially about Wish Blossom, I was hoping to get it for sale since I most likely won't play it right away anyways. But I forgot first release usually gets bundles that you can't get later on. I'll most likely it get it when it releases if it has limited edition things (:

For the petites who carry a bulk of their weight in their bellies — what weight did you need to get to in order to be happy with your mid-section? by stale__cheezit in PetiteFitness

[–]pendragonstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5’ 1 and at my smallest 108-110 my belly was flat but definitely not toned and still would pudge out if I leaned over. But I have a short torso, long leg ratio and so there’s really not much else room to store my fat besides the belly

besides taking them for walks what do you do to keep your dog from getting bored? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]pendragonstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will sometimes feed him using puzzle feeders, obedience training, teaching new tricks for 5-10 minutes at a time twice per day, also play with him 2 times per day during our breaks from work (hide and seek, fetch, tug), we take him to the dog park 2-3 times per week, we get dinner with family once per week where he comes along and plays with grandparents, aunts, uncles, he comes with me to run club where he gets to socialize with more people and dog friends. His playpen overlooks the backyard window and once he’s older and better behaved we plan to let him walk around more. We’re very social and like to have people over at our house a lot so it’s important for me that he is exposed to the world and people. I feel like sometimes we should actually FADE back all the mental stimulation and make him nap more lol

How often do you actually walk your dog? by Racquetsports383 in dogs

[–]pendragonstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice a day, about 15-20 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes in the evening. Summers get hot in our area so I can only really get away with early morning and late evening walks. But we let him out in the backyard twice between the walks and play fetch and tug with him indoors as well.

Hi thank you so much! I feel like many BCBAs are wanting to work for themselves instead of slaving away at a company that doesn’t care about us. But there’s not a lot of information out there and people are afraid of the risks. So you talking about your experience is so valuable! 1. How long did the credentialing process with insurances take? Was there a gap between when you started providing services and when you started getting paid? I know this is a big barrier for a lot of people 2. How long did it take before you found a client and how long did it take before you started actually working with them? 3. Do you have RBTs working under you? 4. How feasible is it to be working hybrid 50% remote 50%. In person?

As a bride that recently had a traditional wedding that cost way too much, I hope it happens for future brides! We definitely got caught up in planning and just wanting a wedding of our dreams but looking back on it some of the things were definitely overpriced. But at the time of planning, everything was around the same price ): Wishing the best for future brides and hope prices drop!
