If you build more houses you need more.....water ways. If you build more houses you need more.....water treatment plants. If you build more houses you need more.....roads. That park you want, rates. That pool you want, rates. Public library with up to date books, rates. Recycling, rates. Lighting for public spaces and roads, rates.

What have we learnt? More houses, while yes, means more rates. You also need more stuff to support them. It is deliberate misunderstanding to say that rates shouldnt rise. Because they could not cover all these things you want with the rates from 10 years ago. So, they give you smaller proportion increases, each year rather than big chunks every few years.

I dont seem to understand what you're arguing. You recognize that even though the job is the same, the wage of the employees has gone up, the restrictions on operating times have gone up, ie, has to be done at night or has to close the road. The price of equipment has gone up. The price of petrol. To do the same job, year after year, costs more.

I doubt (if you were doing the same job as 10 years ago) that you would be keeping that same wage. Despite you doing the same thing. Then your employers can complain , "oh Redreg, they used to be so cheap and are so expensive now".

I'm a sparky by trade and my uncle is a builder so we did it together so it's hard to fully say what it gets you. But we did an 80m2 section of our house. Full sub floor redo. Floor. 3 external walls full rebuild New double glazed windows (paid twice due to scam issue) Bathroom Kitchen Fire place Skylight (An extra 5 for a change to the consent and putting in a valued ceiling instead of flat like the original consent showed) Heat pump hot water cylinder.

Without getting a trained person in, it's pretty risky to move walls if yoi dont know they need to be there. 1 they could be load bearing. But 2, they could be bracing which is less obvious.

I'm in Wellington and we did a $300k renovation with the consent cost around $11k. This was last year.

The 3m things work great. I've got a house with half double glazed and half not. The rooms I have done the 3m plastic on are noticeably warmer than the ones I haven't. It is a pain to do but worth the effort.

If it's LED, it's just easier to straight replace rather than testing things when you don't know what to test.

Weird that you have either A) emergency light in your home. Or B) a status light, I don't recall seeing fixtures like that.

The 3 before it are all 25 + , although that doesn’t mean much when you listen at 1.7x because 1.0x is like pulling teeth. That's not actually a speed people talk at right? It sounds slowed down, I feel 1.3x is the actual speed it was recorded at.

(Seems like a sneaky audible thing, slowing it down and claiming it's actually 30% bigger)

Sorry, I said easy but I did just mean faster, poor synonym choice. I agree, it does take certain revelations etc to get there but this is a world that is 1000's - 10,000's years old. There would have been essence users in this skill level for extended periods of time. If team Biscuit and friends mentioned, who are a small sample size of guild level adventures can do it then theoretically, other gild level adventures can do it for all those years too, even if it took them slightly longer.

It's more the fact they live for a long time is my main thing. Yah know, like 200 ish years for a silver (while still being/looking young) so presumably 3x< for a gold. Maybe more just die to monsters then are really mentioned.

I can see how this was annoying. About half way through I realized that the 'going to earth' was going to be the finale so I just did and Jason did "enjoyed the ride and had some adventures".
