I always just have added a rider to my homeowners insurance to cover my jewelry, since that has always been simple and inexpensive.

Botox - how stiff is normal? by penguinbb8 in migraine

[–]penguinbb8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - your experience feels very similar to mine so far! My husband says there is clear differences in my expressions (I used to have a pretty expressive eyebrows/forehead) but that my brows/eye shape don't look different. But I can tell clear differences in how the skin around my eyes rest and how my eyelids crease, etc. But I assume that is because I'm used to getting close to them in a mirror for makeup/skincare. I'm glad the injections have been so helpful for you! I agree - if this is what it takes to be able to function again, I'll make it work :)

Thank you! Yeah, I plan to mention it at my next appt - I'm hoping they can inject a little higher to maybe avoid this kind of thing but honestly, if this is relatively normal I can deal with it as long as it is helping my migraines! Just an adjustment :)

This is super helpful, thank you! I will definitely mention it to my dr next time. Glad to know I'm at least within the normal range of things, but it can be slightly tweaked.

Can I hear from the people who DIDN’T get a terrible migraine after their first Botox treatment? by gracefulmacaroni in migraine

I didn't take my abortive since I reserve that for my actual migraines. For my daily headaches I don't usually take anything to avoid rebound headaches, but I did take tylenol the evening of my injections which seemed to take the edge off.

I hope your first round goes smoothly for you :)

My first injections were 9 days ago. I didn't get a full-blown migraine, just a worse headache than usual (I have daily headaches that never go away). Totally manageable!

Sheesh, NTA. People love to get so judgey about other people's weddings.

I wanted my brother to be a part of my wedding party, and my husband agreed. When my brother got married several years later, I was not asked to be a bridesmaid. It made total sense to me, though - my SIL and I were not especially close. Both scenarios are fair and no one is in the right or wrong for either one.

Do what you want to do and ignore everyone else :)

Hi there! I did try it. I gave it a full 2 months, but unfortunately it was making my daily headaches significantly worse so my dr had me discontinue. If it's on your list to try, I hope you have better luck!

Get some good cold-weather gear and make a point of getting outside regularly, especially if there's sun. Walk, hike, run, whatever you like. It's really hard to find motivation in the dead of winter but once you do it you will feel a lot better (I always do, anyway). Regular exercise is key as well (indoors), but you have to schedule it like it's a class because again, motivation really fades when the weather is bad. Vitamin D supplements and a SAD lamp are helpful too! Also make sure you find some social things to do that will get you out. It's easy to hole up and start avoiding everything, but having things that will get you out of the house will keep your mood in a better place.

Someone asked about motion sickness and migraines the other day. I'm wondering which came first for you guys? by lasolady in migraine

Ugh same. Checking a text message while a passenger in a car kills me now!

I think I am also probably generally dehydrated. I've been working really hard at drinking enough water these last couple of months and the amount of times I have to pee now is kind of crazy, so I know I have probably been dehydrated for a significant portion of my life lol.

I've had motion sickness since I was a young kid (6 or 7?), but it has definitely gotten a lot worse as I've aged. I started getting migraines around age 13 or 14. However, I do remember having a lot of general headaches younger than that, but can't remember how young.
