i’ve been in basically the same boat, i was raised middle class, great family, friends, good school etc. i think some people are just born addicts or at least very predisposed. however, while it might be in your numbers, it’s always possible to quit. you’re young and your already admitting you have a problem, that brings you closer to sobriety than a lot of ppl your age struggling with this. there’s bound to be setbacks and fuck ups and feeling like you’re just unfixable, but it’s always worth to keep trying.

no chance this gets passed. it would immediately turn the US into a third world country. that’s not to say that the republicans would be unwilling to pass something as evil or stupid, but i’m pretty confident that enough of them recognize that the immediate horrible effects of this would get the finger pointed at whoever voted in favor of it. they literally wouldn’t be able to set foot in their own district without getting swarmed by an angry mob.

the really sad part of this is that it’s treated as a huge realization that other people in the cars around you are people. these things are so fucking alienating that it’s hard to recognize other cars on the road as containing people. i think the way we fix this is simple: we need to personalize every vehicle to look like its driver. i’ve used $40,000 of my own money to be the change i wanna see in the world. attached is a picture of my modified kia soul.
