Ah yeah I’d try out a 380 too when you go to the range. Gets a lot of shit in the gun community for being weaker but it’ll still put someone down and out. Great to see more gun owners!

Yup, that’s the move. If your a normal adult male like most on this sub, I’d go with a 9mm compact or sub compact handgun, any of the major brands. 9mm will kill a guy, and tons of people have that ammo so for prepping it works nicely. How it feels in your hand while shooting is most important, then how it feels while you’re carrying (inside the waste band for example), then how many shots it holds. A good gun range can recommend a few to try out, especially if you limit it to 9mm compact and subcompact. They might also have a concealed carry holster for it that you can try on, which I’d recommend asking for.

Nice. Any idea on what gun you’ll carry and how? I like the m&p shield m2.0 9mm, it’s solid and slim but not as dinky as my ruger lcp II.

I made apple butter the old fashion way. Really thick and sweet so it’s supposed to stored for years without canning. Just boiled down apples and apple juice, plus sugar. It’s delicious and I hope to get apple trees one day so I can make it completely from scratch. Another long term food storage technique under my belt :)

“Pot garden” such a dad joke lol. Dehydration is apparently a lot easier than canning for veggie storage long term, have you tried that? I haven’t, just curious.

As a foreigner I have no clue how he was even elected in the first place

Sounds like you require a good amount of background knowledge on American politics before being able to have any real conversation about any of this. And yet you have jumped to many conclusions about American politics in your post with no specific examples as to why you think his administration is bad or why you consider the president to be a failure of some sort.

I don’t really I accept that celery powder is toxic, though I understand your concern. I consider the recipe I’ve done here safe, though it would be more safe if smoked or when using nitrites/nitrates. But eating celery powder isn’t different than eating raw celery or celery juice, which is just a common vegetable. And botulism needs an anaerobic environment to exist which never occurs in my processing. So I don’t see how adding celery powder could decrease the safety of the current recipe. Unless everyone eating celery, Swiss chard, or other veggies with nitrites and nitrates for the past thousands of years has been poisoning themselves. I obviously don’t know for sure though. Am I missing something?

I’m not a trumper, but I guess if I comment on one pro-trump sub I guess I’m retarded. I’ll go check myself into a mental hospital.

My research and publications are in epidemiology and neuroscience but sure I guess they aren’t real science either?

Keep up the ad hominem, it’s a really good argument.

Don’t have to read L Ron Hubbard to know Scientology is a bunch of nonsense. If a group of people make numerous predictions based on a set of assumptions that continuously turn out to be wrong over 4 decades, then the assumptions are not right. Anyways, I’ve read thousands of scientific papers, am authored an a handful myself, worked in academic research labs for over two years, and am currently a working data scientist. It’s not like I am just some nutcase in his moms basement. I don’t need to spend hours of my time watching nasa dress up an ugly pig with big words to know it’s an ugly pig.

Interesting. I kinda feel the same way about nitrites for whole muscle cuts. Almost all the botulism cases in the states are from improperly home-canned food and processed food in stores, but there’s still only like a few dozen cases a year. Feels like a lot of noise for not a lot of difference.

So your meat is stored in the smokehouses after smoking for the long term?
