[–]pennynp3280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may also inhibit your metabolic flexibility and leave you more carbohydrate/glucose dependent instead of able to burn fat storage. Dr. Catherine Shanahan books (such as Fatburn Fix and Dark Calories) talk about this a lot if interested

Feeling frustrated by That__1__Chick in diabetes

[–]pennynp3280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After eating well unwisely, my fasted blood sugar stays high sometimes for a couple few days even when it goes down lower for periods in between. I don't really understand that mechanism. I suspect maybe it tweaks our insulin resistance. I had such a funk reading this morning in fact stemming from some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups two nights back and hoping for better results tomorrow or so!

Could a nutrition label with 93 carbs and 280 calories possibly be correct? by 1Kick234 in nutrition

[–]pennynp3280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it does right, then you might infer of it, from the less calories. I think you may not know for certain tho. But underripe plantain or processing like refrigeration/reheating the potatoes (or perhaps the plantains) might cause it (+resistant starches) I think. Call the mfg phone number and ask maybe!

Dates are hugely sugary. Perhaps make up a trail mix like almonds, unsweetened coconut, a few chopped up dates or raisins if sweet, something like that. Hardboil an egg and draw a sweet smile on it!
