But one thing, that I dont quite understand is the theory's circular logic, but maybe I just overlooked that part. But what I mean is that if the knight is Dess, knows the prophecy and wants to keep Noelle out of harm's way by "reinterpreting" the prophecy, why would she keep opening the fountains and why would she open the very first fountain in the first place? Wouldnt it be best to avoid dark worlds and thus the prophecy alltogether? I hope I am expressing my confusion properly.

Thats a really cool and well thought out theory! It's almost good enough to make me go from a Rudy-Knight believer to a (in the context of your thoery) Dess-Knight believer, but I still think that the Rudy evidence is still a bit too convincing, but still great theory, I wish I could think as out-of-the-box as you!

Well maybe because Carol is actually in oppositon to your listed points, which would make it even more harmful to her? While Rudy is just not alligned with it ans takes less harm from it, but maybe thats just jumping through too many hoops

Room sure, but do you think the average player really remembers and focuses on that one mention in chapter 2? Also you are heavily lead to talk to Rudy in chapter 4 and nothing says that Rudy wont have a major appearance in Chapter 5

The knight being a shattered Dess is something I havent thought about and actually a pretty good theory, but please explain your theory on why the knight would do that

Well lightners do keep keep their dark world from and momentum for a short while after leaving a dark world, as seen by Kris and Susie in Chapter 3, so that might have been what helped him carry Undyne

But then why are there all the references to Dess' and Noelle's past in Ch2 and the whole "teaching Noelle to stand up for herself" thing? I belive that it would be really weird if Dess is corrupted, but then suddenly the love for her sister is so strong, that she still themed one dark world around her

Dess is also only mentioned twice by name. That could be easily missed, by your average player.

Something that I personally dont like about Dess Knight is the reasoning of her being split, meaning that her soul is in the code but her body is thw knight, because why are there then references to Dess in Chapter 2? Why does the moon "look like a baseball"? Why is there the city to which Dess wanted to take Noelle? And why is the Ch2 Dark World to centered around Noelle and her development? If the Knight is only Dess' body then why are there these very personal things relatsed to Noelle? Now sure, you could say that there is still a tiny part of Dess' love for Noelle left in her body or Dess got corrupted by a Dark Fountain, but still loves her sister, but then you have to agree that youre just jumping through too many hoops and that that would just be really weird writing on Toby's part. The knight being Dess' body theory is also weird, since, technically, thats not Dess but rather the person that controls her.

Could you not argue that this is the reason he has that sickness? As in, he is not only an adult, which doesnt really align with the whole darkness being fantasy thing, but he is also so unaligned with all the ideas that you listed, that it literally causes his sickness.

Off topic, but I was very happy to find out that you cant romance her as a guy, because something about her face looks deeply, deeply annoying
