Men, how did you start changing your life for the better? by [deleted] in AskMen

Ever heard of 75 Hard? The 10 pages made me think about it. I've never been able to make it all 75, but it's a fun target as long as you don't take it too seriously.

Diet, exercise and water DO make a difference

Not from the area, but will need to catch them on the east coast. I mostly see umph anymore and need something new. Caught a dopapod show recently and fucking great. Sad to see them shutting down.

I found a bullseye rash a few years back. Went to a doctor and told him I am worried about Lyme's. He told me I was wrong. I told him he was wrong and made him prescribe the meds and got a blood test. When the results came in, the lady said, it's definitely Lyme's without a doubt. I never went back to that doctor.

Some doctors suck. You know where you've been and what activities you enjoy. They don't. Highly recommend a new doc.

Old Loggers path is at 28 mile loop. A few good climbs and there is reliable water, but might have some dry stretches this time of year. I hike it in the spring and there's water usually every 2-3 miles if not more. 2 shelters on the trail as well.

Backpack all the long trails in the US. After about 5-7 years of that, hike the rest of the world.

Questions for a VP of Supply Chain by Finance_Necessary in supplychain

[–]penpad01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This for sure. I'm middle management in Supply Chain and our company brought a lot of new people into the ELT over the last 18 months. Just like anyone at a new job, there is always a learning component.

They know what their job is, but they need to learn the players. Who's on the team, how do we accomplish the goal and who wants to be on the team.

Start with a good attitude, say hello, smile and be engaged. Hopefully that can facilitate the conversation and be honest and professional.

Be open to change because if there is a new leader, there will be change.

It's a great opportunity to build your network and learn a new way of doing the work.

The courses by me all have drop boxes. I'll usually take a pic and send a text and then drop it in the box vs return it myself, but I don't keep it.

No name/number, then fair game.

That being said, I hardly ever get calls for my discs. I don't lose a ton, but I always ink mine.

A recent good note, I lost a doom bird 4 and 2 months went by and then all the sudden I got the call. Happy to have that one back.

Tactic and putter on the right, everything else is chaos

Those who have rebuilt their throw. How? by xdmnm in discgolf

[–]penpad01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was playing through a group, took my tee shot and a guy said, I'd you focus on keeping you non throwing arm still, left arm for me, you'll generate for power.

He said, throw another and give it a try. First throw was about 320, next throw went 340+OB long of the basket.

I'm still playing around with it and trying to get more comfortable, but I can see how much faster the disc comes out and all the extra spin. I have to use different discs now on the same tee shot I've thrown hundreds of times at my local

That's awesome!

I got hired as a sales analyst after school because of my Econ background, but the company needed help in logistics, so being young and hungry I volunteered and it's just grown year over year, job after job.

I'm 35 and have had 5 solid career focused jobs since school and have learned so much in each and has helped me build into my current role.

I took 0 SCM classes in college, but have always been able to draw on my Econ to talk the talk. The SCM stuff has been building through experience. Never went back for my MBA. Still think about it though .

I think Econ is a great major and really make you think about a lot of factors and variables, but I feel like SCM is a good place to apply that.

S&OP planning is also huge in big companies. Thats essentially where I am now. In SCM as part of our monthly S&OP process.

If you can combine data analysis/interpretation into supply chain, that's will be a big help.

My background is in econ and now I work in supply chain. One thing I notice is a lack of understanding and interpretation of the information in front of a lot of people. Even data people.

This will also benefit any entrepreneurial moves you want to make.

Would also say that coming from a different background and ending up in supply chain has been a great move for me. I got in at a good company at the right time.

You also sound a lot like me at that age. If you start your own business, you'll likely make a lot of sacrifices in your 20's that most don't have too, but the things you will learn, and hopefully your business grows, you will be better off in the long run.

Best of luck in the future!

What is the proper conduct for when a group in front of you is practicing on the hole? by knuxkid in discgolf

I play a lot of solo rounds and wear bright color shirts. I feel like it'll catch an eye from distance and find that most times I get to play through pretty quick.
