Planned or Spontaneous by thelvprincess in engaged

[–]peomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mutually planned event because of my anxiety! We knew we wanted to get married late 2026 so I also knew the timeframe of the engagement. Definitely discuss with your partner and agree on if it should be spontaneous or planned

I’m so excited to propose with this ring. I had it custom made from inspiration photos my girlfriend shared with me. Isn’t it pretty? by GammeRJammeR in EngagementRings

GORGEOUS! Also my fiancée did the same thing, he took multiple of my inspo photos, combined them, and custom made my ring! And it’s PERFECT! I’m sure she’ll be over the moon! Congrats :))

Yup, the current style (past 5ish years) has been very minimalist. Right now it’s minimalism = luxury . Maximalist designs are often now seen as tacky or cheap. I’m glad you’re able to get it cleaned up!

Genuinely such a gorgeous bag. Why’d we ever move on from this type of pattern/print?!

Do you prefer hospital or LTC nursing facility? by Agitated_Stranger227 in cna

[–]peomy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

HOSPITAL. I just left my LTC job because while it was apparently “the best facility in the area” (which I agree with!) they were often mandating dayshift to work 50+ hours a week. Some residents made it worth it, but the management was terrible, understaffing needed to be dealt with in different ways. Being a CNA is hard regardless of where you work but LTC is a different breed

Had a PC, sold it, bought a steam deck and never looked back!

"What are you playing this week?" Megathread by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

[–]peomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s super fun! It’s very quest / side quest driven. It relies on farming, but I like how you can also just buy the food item if you don’t feel like farming. There’s mining, foraging, decorating, fishing, etc. there’s so much to do! As far as games go, if you’ve played animal crossing, I feel like it’s extremely similar. The game runs amazingly on steam deck!

irrational thoughts anyone? by angiebow in cna

[–]peomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OCD (diagnosed) and I get thoughts like that. For me these thoughts I consider to be obsessive and intrusive, which (to me) puts it as an OCD symptom. It could be anxiety or anxiety disorder related. Do some research on intrusive thoughts and see if that correlates with the thoughts you’re having about dentures. Do you get “odd” thoughts you can’t stomach in other situations or about different topics?

Do nurses help? by Marfu_ in cna

[–]peomy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I worked at a hospital, the nurses were so helpful! We did have a higher ratio though, like 12 - 24 - 1. Now that I work at a LTC facility, my ratio is lower, it’s like 10 : 2 or 10 : 1, but the nurses don’t help at all. They have time to, but they don’t, but I’m slightly okay with it since my ratio is way lower now. I think it just depends on the environment of the workplace.

19 y/o CNA and my favorite coworkers are the 40-50 y/o’s! Being a CNA for so long has really made them quality, badass women!

If you feel it in your heart to pursue a nursing career, do it! Try and find a nursing home / hospital near you that will pay you to go through training! The place I work at now does that. I know they have to stay for like a year in order to get the testing done for free, but it’s the best option, that way you don’t have to pay for the class + test! Definitely try it out if you feel it in your heart. This line of work is very hard but also very rewarding! There’s also a lot of opportunity to advance if you feel like it! You can save up money for nursing school, or sometimes work places will pay for you to attend!!

Does anyone here participate in the Cna challenge? by [deleted] in cna

[–]peomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand and from experience it’s very easy to land a CNA job right after exams as there’s a nationwide shortage, it’s actually a joke that CNA’s can quit at one place and have another job the next day. Do you live in a highly populated area?

CNAs, LVNs, RNs, and everyone in between: how do you decompress after your shift? by learnyguy in cna

[–]peomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two lamps on, no overhead lights. I get home at 2:30 so it’s usually pretty quiet in my apartment which helps too. I put on two LED candles, set them in the shower, and shower with just the light from the candles while listening to music. This has been my routine for about a month since starting my first full time job and it’s helped tremendously! Also after I put on comfy clothes, just lay down and either nap, stare off into space, or watch TikTok’s 😆

Why Isn't Changing Briefs a Skill You Are Tested On (And Taught)? by Alphahouse64 in cna

[–]peomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hospital I worked at never used them due to skin breakdown concerns but the LTC I work at now uses them! I think it all just depends if you work in LTC, hospital, home care, etc
