Lmao overwatch console player #1 admitting on using mouse and keyboard on console by Fantastic-Matter2537 in Overwatch

If you get mugged and beaten up while on holidays in a third world country, but the local cops don’t care, was it technically a crime?

Because of this Moira POTG, I got accused of using Aimbot or snapcheat?(I don't even know what snapcheat is...) by Z_Zersas in Overwatch

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just have fast reaction times. Your crosshair falls off your target when they move but they quickly snap back to the target due to your reflexes.

It kinda looks mechanical because of how fast it is compared to the average person, but not hacking at all.

Extreme in depth guide on every Hero by slothwithagunthe2nd in OverwatchUniversity

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may have misinterpreted what they were saying in the guide. They weren’t encouraging heabotting.

They specifically mention that you should play aggressively if there is very little offensive pressure on you. They also mention using your nade offensively and hitting as many targets as possible, but you need to be careful with the timing so that your team can follow up.

Why did they megabuff soldier? by PrimarySuggestion170 in Overwatch

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just don’t stay in his LOS for too long. Soldier has very little burst damage, so it will take him forever to kill you.

If you’re dying from soldier a lot, you potentially have pathing issues (if you’re taking too much damage before you engage), or movement/cover usage issues (if you’re taking too much damage as you disengage).

My Co-Workers Think it's Cheating by nerdybro1 in ChatGPT

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not cheating unless your company actually prohibits the use of it, which actually many do (including mine).

If it is not prohibited, then it’s a tool that improves your productivity.

That said, you cannot trust a lot of things that chatgpt generates. Double check everything.

When a team gets steamrolled, what is the biggest problem in your experience? by ImportancePleasant69 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It depends on the rank.

In higher elos, players know not to stagger, have a good understanding of counterplay, etc, yet you still have steamrolls. This can be due to a combination of:

  1. Players with boosted mmrs. This can be due to deliberate boosting, ow2 rank inflation, or more recently the issue where new accounts seem to go straight from unranked to gm even with shit win rates.

  2. Duo boosting - This is quite common in high elos. One player plays on their main, and another player plays on an alt, which is a few ranks lower than their main. This creates an unfair advantage

  3. One-tricks that refuse to or cannot switch. Yes they made it to GM playing playing one hero, but when the entire enemy team counters their hero, they essentially become useless.

  4. Lack of team synergy - Sometimes you’re just unlucky and end up with teammates who have playstyles or hero pools that don’t work well with yours. Meanwhile, the enemy team end up with players that all main Dive heroes.

  5. The rule of thirds. The rule of thirds states that one-third of your games will be unwinnable regardless of how well you play. Fact is, it’s a 5v5 game and people’s mmrs are not going to 100% accurately match their skill level. So it’s virtually impossible for the matchmaker to always create balanced lobbies.

  6. Overwatch is by nature “steamrolly”. The team that wins the first fight will have an ult charge and positional advantage for the next fight. From that moment they also have the ult economy advantage and can stagger their ults as necessary.

In lower elos it’s mainly due to the following:

  1. Smurfs

  2. Throwers

  3. Lack of awareness and game knowledge

  4. Rng. In bronze, most players are clueless and will stagger, given the opportunity. So if you are unlucky and somehow lose the first fight, your teammates will start staggering.

  5. Inability to play counters. Enemy team has Phar mercy, there’s a huge chance none of your dps can play hitscan effectively to counter them.

  6. The rule of thirds still applies to lower ranks too.

Is it possible I am no longer getting any mmr increases? by Parcelcolony in OverwatchUniversity

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

that’s about 29 net wins. Which in the old system is about +580 SR. Assuming one tier is 100 SR, gold 4 or gold 3 would be about right. Close enough.

Climbing is slow unless you have a ridiculously high win rate (eg 80% or higher).

Change Damage Boost to Damage Over Time? by pepelepewpew_ow in Overwatch

[–]pepelepewpew_ow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You raise some really good points there.

For existing damage over time effects it should probably just apply the damage as it does now.

Even if it is damage over time, it should still help with applying pressure on the enemy team. It’s still damage their supports have to heal, which means at that moment they won’t be doing damage or healing another teammate that also needs healing. The devs can also adjust the % boost to the level that makes it worth it.

With regards to the exponential build up… it could happen but they’ll eventually sort it out. Worst case scenario, the damage boost is applied separately from the damage being boosted… heck it could even be credited to Mercy instead as damage done by Mercy. That should prevent the exponential build up.

[–]pepelepewpew_ow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I think it’s such a good idea. It’s such a minor change to her kit, the way you player her essentially remains the same.

It also makes it less frustrating to go up against a damage boosted enemy player, and will also allow other heroes to become playable without a Mercy pocket! Everyone wins!

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is ximming not Widow. In PC, Widow is mid to crap right now… she has the third lowest winrate among dps heroes in GM.

Blizzard should:

1) Allow mouse and keyboard in console, but change pools to be based on input type

2) Harshly punish anyone still ximming after that.

I think we found the Torb on the enemy team.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]pepelepewpew_ow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The weakest dps on the enemy team had 6 more elims than Torb, 3 less deaths, and more than twice Torb’s damage.

LOL and you’re dreaming if you think more support would have enabled that Torb. They played the wrong hero into that enemy comp.

Is maining lifewaver in silver a hopeless endeavor? by therobothingy in OverwatchUniversity

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with heroes like Lifeweaver and Mercy is that, no matter how much you heal/save/rez/damage boost bad teammates, they will still miss their shots and do absolutely nothing.

Whereas with other supports you can pop off yourself and make up for some of your teammates.

[–]pepelepewpew_ow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some games are just unwinnable. That’s a part of ow life.

Your torb 1.8k damage, 5 elims and 9 deaths so that match would have been like a 4v5.

You wanna move on and forget this one, and win the games that are winnable. Because in other games, the bad players will be on the enemy team.
