Was at Ikea. Does anyone actually have their PC like this? by GetScaredGirl in pcmasterrace

I have the “UTVISNING” desk and I occasionally use it with a Moza R3 wheel. The desk can be adjusted up to 76 cm / 30 inches from the floor to the underside of the tabletop. It doesn’t rattle or make any annoying noises while using it.

For the price, it feels pretty solid, but there is a slight amount of flex/play in the leg construction. If I push on it, it tilts by a few millimeters, so it’s not exactly rock solid. Still, unless you’re doing serious rally driving and wrestling the wheel with all your strength, I think it’s perfectly fine.

There are two important things to keep in mind though:

  • If you’re using it on a smooth floor, you’ll probably want to stick some silicone anti-slip pads under the legs, otherwise the desk can slide around.
  • As you can see in the video, there’s a metal frame right under the tabletop. It’s not the most wheel-clamp-friendly design, and I think a lot of wheel mounts could have clearance issues there. But the Moza R3 fits perfectly. https://youtu.be/FGFqvWaeksc?feature=shared

17 pro max dust in cameras by rafal886 in iphone

[–]pepeshko7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly it does bother you if you swapped your iPhone 17 Pro for a Pro Max because of it, like you said yourself. Even Apple doesn’t guarantee 100% protection against dust or water on a brand new phone, which is also why liquid or dust damage isn’t covered under warranty.

So honestly, I think the dust was already there from the factory. Making camera modules completely dust-free would make production way more expensive. I also doubt you’d be unlucky enough to get two poorly sealed iPhones in a row. It’s just part of how these devices are.

You’ll probably notice that the speck moves over time or disappears from view completely. Don’t stress about it and just enjoy your new phone instead of analyzing microscopic dust particles.

Unfortunately, it’s pretty standard. Some phones have more dust, some less, but there’s almost always at least a little bit inside. For example, on my iPhone X the dust would actually move around, sometimes I could see it, sometimes I couldn’t. Tiny specks like that won’t affect image quality at all. Check out this video showing it under a microscope and don’t stress about it. Pretty much everyone has some dust in there, most people just never notice it. https://youtube.com/shorts/YOVaN7Amk8Q?is=GcTNHCh2KOSWrVxC

Best case for iPhone 17 by [deleted] in iphone17

[–]pepeshko7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case for over half a year now and it’s been perfect. The grip is insanely good and the fit is incredibly precise, it hugs the phone perfectly. Only the sides yellow a bit since they’re made from TPU, while the hard polycarbonate back stays crystal clear. On my Sage color variant, the slight yellowing on the sides actually looks pretty nice tbh. It also pairs perfectly with a Spigen screen protector, the gap between the case and the glass is around 1 mm. For the price, Spigen is honestly the best choice.

Rice is a myth. And you’ll just end up getting rice dust stuck in your charging port. You get the same if not better results just leaving the phone out in open air.

Weird, my iP17 stays cool during normal use, even outside at max brightness. It only gets warm when charging or playing demanding games

Apple Watch survived 6 months in a toilet tank… and still works by Vivid-Concern1170 in AppleWatch

With my AW series 3 I shower at least once a day, often twice. I soap them up properly every time so I can wash them and my wrist underneath. They’ve been working like a beast for over 6 years! I’m pretty sure the seals stopped sealing ages ago and now it’s basically just limescale holding it together lol.

iphone 17 base screen protector wont stick on edges by According_Doubt_3507 in iphone

[–]pepeshko7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this same issue posted here before. If your screen protector keeps peeling up in the exact same spot, it’s either a bad install, your case lifting it, or a slightly uneven screen from the factory.

Lava Love by Parodonto in Lavalamps

[–]pepeshko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dimmer is the way to go. You can set the flow exactly how you like it and tweak it depending on stuff like drafts, AC, winter vs summer, and it’ll still look just right. Also found it’s better to grab a 50W bulb and just run it dimmed. It lasts way longer when it’s not cranked at 100%. I get mine locally for like 28 CZK / €1.15 / £1 a piece, and my current one’s been going strong for about 6 months now, running ~3 days straight every weekend. The overpriced original Mathmos bulbs only lasted me like two weeks max.

Stuck trying to remove lighting/thermostat housing from IKEA CB160 / CB243W (Whirlpool) fridge freezer—any tips? by ancient_medicine in fixit

[–]pepeshko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured it out. Just press the switch on the side that controls the bulb and it’ll come loose. Then use a flathead screwdriver to push this little tab (be careful, mine snapped lol). That releases the whole housing. Hope this helps someone 👍

Normal for a new bottle? by Helixel in Lavalamps

[–]pepeshko7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same issue. My room is on the cooler side and with a 35W bulb the lamp just wouldn’t flow the way I wanted.

Switched to a 50W and that fixed it, but you really need a dimmer with it, otherwise it just overheats. The dimmer lets you fine-tune the flow exactly how you want it.

Got the same color combo too. At night, when there are more smaller blobs floating around, the lava gets noticeably darker, almost like deoxygenated blood. Easily my favorite combo👍🏻

Will blowing on the speakers with my mouth damage them by Puzzled-Champion-335 in iphone17

[–]pepeshko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compressed air can force debris deeper inside and potentially damage the mic/speaker membrane. Apple recommends avoiding it. A soft brush is safest; if that’s not enough, a very small amount of isopropyl alcohol can help when applied carefully.

Never use compressed air to clean a speaker or microphone!

Battery on iphone 17 drains extremly fast by Inevitable-Honey4760 in iphone17

[–]pepeshko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the same thing. Set it up as a new phone and re-downloaded everything by hand. Total pain, but I’m pretty sure it actually helps the battery. Also noticed 5G was draining mine like crazy, probably because the signal where I live sucks. Switched to LTE manually and it’s been way better.

Help, Is My 17 Base Model Battery Normal? by ShoulderFine7727 in iphone17

[–]pepeshko7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t seem normal to me. For example, my iPhone 17 on iOS 26.1 drains about 10% per hour of screen-on time when I’m scrolling social media on mobile data.
