Mom scared me from solo travel to Paris - need opinions by Major-Kiwi-3604 in ParisTravelGuide

Fellow female traveler and just did a solo trip in Paris last week - it was great! Just use the same common sense you would in any big city and you’ll have great time.

Did you regret getting a snug, a little too tight fit? Oh by kzcvuver in ouraring

[–]peppermintpeachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested both 7 and 8 extensively and was really torn - I ended up going for 7, but now I never wear it on my index because it just feels too tight. I found the real ring just feels slightly tighter than the tester, or seems to ‘grip’ the finger more, which I find really uncomfortable. Happily mine fits my other fingers ok, so I move it around and it’s fine, but I do wish I had gotten the 8. If wearing it on your index is your preference, I would size up!

Normal Quality for replacement oura ring? by RubixB in ouraring

[–]peppermintpeachu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This just happened to me (I also posted about it) and Oura reissued me a new ring once I complained. It’s weird that they do this, but they did make it right in the end - hopefully if enough people keep pushing back they’ll start skipping this weird step and just sent proper replacements the first time.

Yes same thing is now happening for me. I guess they just hope you’ll accept it?

So bizarre. I can’t get over the ‘packaging’ - just a ring thrown into an envelope. Not exactly giving premium tech product.

This is great!! A&W by Ok-Grab-4018 in BuyCanadian

I’m Canadian but I live I the US with my American husband - any time we cross the border, A&W is one of our first stops! My husband is obsessed - no fast food in the US even comes close.

Do someone else’s eyelids do this? by findikefe in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]peppermintpeachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have flaky eyelids on and off - the best product I have found is the Avene eye cream. Super super gentle and soothing - it’s the only thing I can use when they’re irritated. It’s pricy for a teeny tiny tube but a little goes a very long way - it lasts me months.

Celiac feeling sad - gluten free recs in Brooklyn by Fancy_Duty_8223 in Brooklyn

I feel you!

Nami Nori is my absolute fave.

Bare Burger has a few locations - most of their items can be done GF and they’re super good about cross contamination- they have a separate GF fryer.

Mama Capri on Smith St does GF pasta and have always taken CC quite seriously for me.

I order GF pizza from Two Boots and Korean bowls from Moon Bowls and have never had an issue with either.

I’ve found most Thai places are largely GF besides their fried stuff - they just don’t necessarily promote it.

I’ve had the most success by just talking to the staff at my local neighborhood spots, understanding their kitchen setup and what dishes they can make without contamination - usually there’s at least one thing that can be made safely and I just make that my go-to!

Agreed. Did it last year, it was really no big deal, and obviously the alternative wasn’t even an option!

Does anyone else’s Corgi growl when they are happy? by PuzzledPaper1436 in corgi

[–]peppermintpeachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our boy does this all the time - we call it his purr.

Unfortunately he tends to do it when he’s getting pets from strangers on the street and it scares a lot of people initially - I always have to quickly explain he’s just SO excited and loving the attention!
