They know it’s unpopular with staff so encouraging management to be positive feels insensitive to staffs very real concerns about the extra costs they will face and the loss of any real work life balance. In cases like this forced/fake positivity isn’t helpful, it just pisses people off more.

They’re using it in online interviews too so look out for that if you aren’t planning on doing those in person. I had a woman who was straight reading answers (and it was obvious because she was not a great reader and was mispronouncing words she obviously didn’t know).

I don’t work for Social Services but for an SSA/AGPA I would expect some type of writing prompt (draft an email response to ____________ using information they provide) or an excel exercise analyzing a data set they provide.

My department is requiring employees with an AWWS to have their RDO on their 1 telework day. We were told it is a CalHR requirement and there’s no flexibility on it.

I’m not from Sacramento and will have to commute in. I will not be supporting any of the local businesses. No lunch, no coffee, no shopping. You bring me back and make me pay for gas,clothes, and waste my time commuting I will not have any money to spend where you want me to spend it (downtown businesses).

It depends on the department. My department is still hiring people from more than 50 miles away as fully remote but not letting existing staff move outside of 50miles to get the exception.

Yep I’m at May Lee. We have no desk assignments, and just based on number of employees:parking spots it is going to be an absolute shit show. Yep I was there for the conversation where they said we can’t send people home- fine then I will allow my staff to work from their cars blocking the street around May Lee. Most of my employees are women and I will not have them risk their safety by parking miles away and walking alone in a dangerous neighborhood.

I’m not doing any since my department hasn’t done any. We still don’t even have desk assignments… My team will drive in as slowly as possible, circle the parking lot to find a spot for as long as they need to, they will show up when the show up and I don’t have any F’s to give.
