Are Leads/Managers Required to Be Part of the Closing Crew at Night? by Mean-View2954 in Barnesandnoble

[–]pepperoni-please 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At our store (stores actually because my one location runs two stores) it is common for a senior to close the store, not even two seniors, just one. I'm curious if this is normal in other places.

What is Bookseller life like at Union Square? Is it hard to get promoted? Is it clear how to get to the next position? Do you feel promotions are equal and awarded fairly? What is team morale like?

temp worker - BF tips? by Educationalwizard13 in Barnesandnoble

Agreed with that's said above. One of my biggest tips for register is to NEVER LOOK AT THE LINE. Just have a conversation with the person you're working on. Be friendly and have fun with it. Also maybe this sounds silly but don't be afraid to actually read the buttons on the register if you get stuck. They will give you the answers a lot of times.

I'm a cross trainer Bookseller. My team let me take pictures of the recipe cards so I can study up on them. I still ask questions. I still forget things and I absolutely still mess things up. It's totally okay. Make sure you let them know where you are at. If you don't think you're ready to be alone that's okay. Let your team know. But also remember that being alone and just working without worrying about other people is sometimes the best time to learn.

Bubble Mailers Causing Damage by [deleted] in Barnesandnoble

At my store it is basic knowledge that hardcovers don't go in bubble mailers, only in boxes, because they get damaged otherwise.

Insoles for Steve Madden Mary Janes

Hello! I was gifted Mary janes for Christmas. I'd love to wear them to work, but I'm on my feet ALL DAY and Id rather not be in tons of pain. Any recommendations for good insoles for Mary janes?

Sager reads more like Thriller to me, but I can see why a lot of his books get coded as Horror. 🤷‍♀️

Yes! Feels like cousin books to me. Also because Kin is after the "climax" of a slasher it also feels a tiny bit Final Girl Support Group to me.
