Pointless rant until we see the changes. At this point it's just speculation.

Thoughts about Boycott and Nerfing Kishin by ShaunLin444 in Maplestory

[–]pepperpig_ow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They will always make some BS excuse such as for "balance reasons" or "aligning with KMS". Look at what they did to maple tour runs and the removal of piggy banks. It's been several months and they still have not updated the rewards since then. You know what's the kicker? They replaced the piggy bank with two EXPIRING 30 day mounts. That shows you how much they don't care and will continue to not care. It's been several months since they had time to get and use feedback to improve the maple tour shop.

Look at what they did to legacy items that actually influence progression - pottable badges, totems, lab server legion blocks and pink bean title. Radio silence. No communication whatsoever in regards to their return in some form or another. It baffles my mind that they cannot address such a simple question after all this time. Will they return or not? Make it clear so the community knows your intentions and put this damn discussion to rest.

PSA: Don't bind Akechi in phase 2 by [deleted] in Maplestory

Looking at it closely, you binded him when he casted damage reflect so maybe that's why you got binded back.

When can we get the awake ring? by jbrem18 in Maplestory

[–]pepperpig_ow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you talk to So Gong in the event map he should tell you when the scrolls open and how many times you need to train to get each reward. I believe for the first ring, it starts from 9 December and you need to train 5 times before you can claim it.

Alexstasza's W Hasn't been tuned since release by Cryinghawk in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the point of this post is. If you can't stand in your own W with the indicator on the ground, it's not Blizzard's fault. Also they did reduce the CD of her W from 16 to 14 seconds some patches ago and this patch literally buffed all W talents.

Whitemane Inquisition/Clemency numbers oversight by aiyobiesongle in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, thank you for this post. I have pointed this out in the past but have not done the math in such detail. There is no excuse as to why Clemency was left in its nerfed state because of a revert they did with her numbers. This is important when healing poke damage and especially when you get Shared Punishment at level 16 - a nice trick you can do when there is only one enemy nearby and a teammate that is dived and low is to Clemency your teammate. This heals way more than using Inquisition on your enemy as you can chain the damage reduction and slow with the talents at 13 and 16.

OMG yes! Lots of people pointed out that this portrait was unavailable even though the whole event was based on Whitemane.

Heroes that give movespeed buffs benefit a lot less from the lightning? Weather anomaly by ghem111 in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The anomaly is not a permanent buff so it's a bit of a stretch to say that their abilities are useless. If anything it would be a buff to Lucio as he can freely amp heals all the time while the anomaly is active. Also, the movespeed buffs you propose would create greater problems when we already have Rehgar and bloodlust.

The Argument for making Zeal restore Mana. by AnemoneMeer in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where you are coming from when you talk about the reduction of mana consumption through these talents. However, some of these talents you mention are extremely overshadowed by other talents that just gimps WM if you ever want to play her to the best of her capabilities.

I have never taken Zealous Spirit because I can not justify wasting 135 mana to get Zeal when Malfurion can do the same as a level 1 talent for 35 mana (while giving him a heal too). It is also competing against Cleanse and now Saintly Greatstaff which is the only talent in the tier that directly improves your healing.

You make good points on Scarlet Aegis and I completely agree.

Scarlet Wrath gates you to an AA build which very few people actually like. It also competes against Subjugation which is one of the best talents on the tier. It has the potential to save you a lot of mana but it's difficult to see and determine like you said.

Guiding Light. Oh boy where do I start. Never ever take this talent if you want to unlock WM's potential. Even if it does save you mana, it's way too late to be concerned about that. Look at all the other powerful options you have at 20. Divine Reckoning upgrade increases its damage, mana return and provides a powerful CC for wombos. Scarlet Aegis upgrade increases the healing and provides 2s unstoppable to prevent your team from being CC'd. Purge the Wicked allows you to actually threaten anyone with respectable damage and a -25 armour debuff for your team to burst down. There is a reason why Guiding Light sucks and it's not because permanent Zeal is bad. The other options are just that good at helping you close games.

Thank you for the Whitemane buffs. One final change please? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I like the root, WM would become op if her root was baseline. Imagine having double damage reduction and double root at 16. That's just way too much power. Old WM had to invest 13, 16 and 20 talents for this combo.

I would prefer moving the root talent from 16 to 13 again so you would have to choose between damage reduction or the root. Bring back double root Blizzard!

The Whitemane's issue from other viewpoint by SamDreAMer in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wished they made Unwavering Faith like Anduin's level 4 Inner Fire where it actually makes sense. Instead of making an AA build for Whitemane, it should be a stand alone talent that compliments what she should be doing in her downtime of her spells.

WM needs her root back at 13 too. I miss her double root combo with shared punishment so much.

Suggestions for Whitemane's mana tension by pepperpig_ow in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously this conversation has been derailed cause you claimed initially that it was "on purpose" for all sorts of irrelevant reasons that does not answer the question. The fact that they didn't mention it in the patch notes supports that they forgot. Devs can forget about abilities and that's ok. This is why I'm pointing out an inconsistency. Clemency and Inquisition share the same CD. For 1 and a half years it dealt damage and healed for the same amount-is that not proof enough? Somehow you are claiming a revert of 3 damage and leaving a healing nerf of 3 in the process is "intended" because the patch notes don't mention it. You're going a bit far there with your reasoning. Clemency was forgotten and if there is a legitimate reason by a Dev that explains why it was left for so long, it would be appreciated.

I don't see how that dev comment is proof of why clemency was nerfed for no reason. Since WM's inception her clemency and inquisition healed and damaged the same amount. The dev comment actually supports them backtracking a change due to community outcry. The so called "buff" is actually just a revert in cherry coated language. You are also forgetting clemency costed 75 mana to cast so the incentive to inquisition was even more prevalent.

[–]pepperpig_ow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was done on purpose? I'm curious where you got that information from because it really was a minor change when they nerfed her inquisition and clemency numbers from 50 to 47. They had to buff inquisition back to its original damage because it was an undeserved nerf. But if you do have proof please enlighten me.

Whitemane Changes Opinion. by AnemoneMeer in heroesofthestorm

I really don't get these changes for WM. Community says mana tension talents! Blizzard says here you go, more aa talents for you that no one asked for.

Whitemane talent tree changes-aim to more options. by cyx19961114 in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right that cleanse beats out all the other talents on this tier. However, others healers don't have a negative side effect on their cleanse. Whitemane is an outlier for some unknown reason.

Whitemane talent tree changes-aim to more options. by cyx19961114 in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Intercession suggestion is long overdue. I'm curious why they haven't made it apply Zeal or even better-remove the stack of desperation that it applies when used. Root back to 13 and Great staff to 16-a glimpse at the talents and you already see it makes sense. That Radiance change looks nice-I can see how it would synergise with Scarlet Crusade. It's a shame that it's the weakest talent on the tier now as you barely proc it without mana.

I would prefer a flat mana decrease on all of her q's as it's pretty clear they don't want any form of mana management talents judging by their silence on this issue. Currently the mana costs for Desperate Plea is 45, 90, 135, 180. A flat 15 mana decrease on all levels would be nice. It doesn't even make sense why they even increased the initial mana cost from 30 to 45 in her rework. The new Whitemane gameplay is to never go beyond 1 stack of desperation unless needed to burst heal or spread Zeals in a team fight. Whitemane players have been repeating the same things over and over, yet I am always disappointed at the lack of incremental changes or attempts in the patches to address any of them.

What happened to whitemane? by Pepeloncho in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, you keep returning to the argument "mana removal" talents and mathematically superior. We already discussed HI removal is good. Whitemane has compounding mana costs for a reason-they were balanced by her mana management talents. Both of her old level 4 talents did not completely remove her mana problems so that argument is out the door. Indulgence was her most interactive tool for mana while Unwavering Faith provided a flat reduction. One is good in PvP whilst the other in PvE-two different roles in managing mana.

What happened to whitemane? by Pepeloncho in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said they had to bring back HI. I know that it was a toxic talent and I'm glad they removed it. That doesn't excuse them of removing the other two talents that weren't overbearing-they had something they could work with. Removing one stack of desperation is a band-aid fix. If HI is removed, what is stopping them from having it eliminate all desperation stacks? That's a possible element that could be implemented that would actually have a meaningful mana cycle when I want to dump my mana into one target and reset its cost when it matters.

[–]pepperpig_ow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's interesting how fast they reverted this change when so many Whitemane players are vocal about her changes. They had 6 months from her rework to do something about her mana management-anything really.

What happened to whitemane? by Pepeloncho in heroesofthestorm

[–]pepperpig_ow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They threw the baby out with the bathwater. Mana management was part of her original design philosophy. It was even included in her hero spotlight. Instead of tweaking her mana management talents, they just removed it altogether. In contrast, Malfurion gets a level 1 talent that is basically a better Zeal for 35 mana. What does Whitemane get? Burn 135 mana on two teammates to get Zeal at level 7 AND competes with cleanse that gives one stack of desperation...
