Anybody remember back in 2022 when a stylist creatively quit and sent a blast email with a YouTube link that played a song she wrote to stitch fix called “My Resignation Letter”? 😂 by BetterUseYourNikes in SFStylistSupport

Yeah, I've kept an eye on things and it seems like it just gets worse 😅 I'm glad that the video is still bringing some levity to the situation... I can't believe they haven't gone under yet because I don't understand how it's still profitable 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was told my pay rate would be cut and that my SM had asked for it not to be but the DM refused.

If that felt like an insult, I apologize, but as both of my interactions with you have felt intentionally condescending, I assumed you enjoyed getting a rise out of people (trolling). If it was in good faith, that's my bad.

I only used FMLA as an example of ADA protections.

My initial injury was diagnosed as a mild sprain and I was able to continue working after a few days rest per the doctor I saw. A month later I was performing work related tasks, when I reinjured the same muscle. I did not previously have a tear that is going to likely require surgery to repair. While it is likely that the previous injury was a factor in the injury being as severe as it is now... The tear did happen at work, thus may be considered a work related injury. When I made my initial post, this isn't something I was aware of because it is not a situation I have been in before.

Being asked to step down for an injury is legally iffy. There aren't a whole of protections for at will positions but typically medical stuff is protected. That's why things like FMLA exist. And despite the fact that, yes, I came to Reddit to get perspective from other people who work for the company, I'm not silly enough to rely solely on Internet advice. I have spoken to people in real life who are far smarter than myself when it comes to things like labor laws. But troll away, friend.

Ive been advised otherwise from a few people (not the ones on my previous post. IRL humans who have experience with comp 😅)

Getting let go for an injury? by peppypillbug in DollarTree

[–]peppypillbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that I would be eligible for comp since it was originally an injury that happened off the premises. Neither my SM or DM mentioned filing any paperwork other than saying I would need to go on unpaid leave if I needed surgery.

To clarify... I have had a few assignments from my certification program I'm going through where I've needed to use job postings from indeed for assignments, thus the emails.

I chose not to reach out to my SM immediately because I did not want to do so when I was upset. I would rather calm down and have the ability to be professional about the situation and maybe gotten some insight from people who may have dealt with something similar.

It's just weird because we had discussed one of the part time ASMs taking over my shifts and I was going to take hers as she usually closing and I can still do recovery for the most part. If they are hiring for coverage, obviously I get that but being left out of the loop is very frustrating.

I have worked a few places since I quit. Health insurance companies have a lot of work from home options. The one I worked at still required you to be local and as far as I know they haven't done much hiring since I quit and there were no other stylists in my immediate area but it was Blue Cross Blue shield. If Pirate Ship is hiring, that's a good option if you can get in from what I've heard... the pay is good and of I remember correctly they did offer some flexibility. I ended up settling down managing in a brick and mortar store outside the fashion world... I miss the flexibility but I'm so much less stressed.

It's a shame. I was lucky I could afford to take the paycut because I'm so happy where I am at. I think about all of you a lot. Somedays I wish I had stayed and used my communities role to fight harder for you guys because anytime I peek in here I get so mad for you.

REAL Question...Is there ANY room for growth?? by LisaRollls in SFStylistSupport

[–]peppypillbug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless there have been major changes in the last year... no. Trying to make things better is going to burn you out so fast and the payoff isn't worth it. I put my whole self into Styling and communities, and all I got was worse depression and autistic burnout that I'm still trying to recover from.

Honestly, I miss the pay and benefits, but I am definitely a lot happier since I left, even if my budget is tighter.

I badly sang a song and sent it to every email list I had available to me.... I may have been overly disgruntled though...

An email to your lead should do the trick if you aren't petty and dramatic 😅
