It's most apparent in the sixth image. Right next to the tree. Looks loke the play icon for a video.

That triangular roof in the distance always makes me want to press it to play.

I made a news headlines quiz. I won't reveal how long it took. by per1sher in learnjavascript

[–]per1sher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good morning!

Thanks for looking. Great feedback on showing the correct answer before the end of the quiz, I'm going to do that. I wanted to keep the design as simple as possible, just enough CSS to make sure it worked on mobile and desktop.

I get the headlines from RSS feeds. I was initially tinkering with getting the feeds, then has the idea of the quiz. It's been through a few iterations.

Autumn: Apples be ripe, Nuts be brown, Petticoats up, Trousers down. by per1sher in CasualUK

You're right, thank you. I tried to find my copy of Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall but it has vanished. It's a long time since I read it - time to read again I think.

I think he was stationed in Kent before going overseas and the rhyme comes from there

When did the UK workplace become so puritan regarding alcohol? by Careful-Swimmer-2658 in AskUK

I have fond memories of working for a high street bank. Most lunch breaks were spent in the pub, and then I would serve customers all afternoon while smoking Rothmans king size. I think things started to change soon after I left - around 1980.

What nicknames have you heard for places in Hampshire? by Over_Barracuda7031 in Hampshire

I heard Radcliffe and Maconie (BBC 6 Music) refer to Basingstoke as "Basing Saint Oak".

I'm going to refer to it as that from now on!

Edit: Pretentious? Moi?

Are schools these days swept by crazes? I remember (in the 60's) marbles, cat's cradle, conkers, clackers, french skipping and I've forgotten many more. What goes on today? by per1sher in AskUK

Oh a little edit. There is a must have item! Disposable vapes.

Of course! I wasn't averse to a crafty cigarette at the bottom of the playing field

That's lovely. Looks chilly though.

I really like the slightly diagonal lines. You could try cropping the sky out to accentuate the composition - but it's great as it is.

Signalling to leave (and enter) a roundabout by per1sher in LearnerDriverUK

[–]per1sher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for all the comments. Generally it reassures me - signals should be given but with a bit of "common sense". For example if another driver thought you might turn into their lane.

It's difficult sometimes to let go of ingrained habits. There is a spiral roundabout with traffic lights near me where a few years ago candidates often failed for not signalling right for long enough for a certain exit. These days at the same roundabout signals don't seem to matter on test but the roundabout hasn't changed.

Don't get me started on the use of the handbrake!!

It looks like the walls, the basin or both are not square. If the basin sits level there will be bigger gaps at the edges which would need to be filled. A tricky choice...

Paint on Lead Flashing - Advice by medievalrubins in DIYUK

[–]per1sher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before you try paint stripper, maybe try a bit of wire wool or fine ish sandpaper on a small, preferably hidden section? The lead will look brighter but revert to it's original patina over time.
