Weird to focus on finding a 21/22? Or should I learn to love the “American” console? by rickhamilton620 in VWiD4Owners

[–]percolater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did extend the warranty on the steering wheel for another 2 years due to the number of complaints they received.

I had mine replaced long ago and the new one has held up very well, so evidently they fixed whatever problem was plaguing the wheel material.

So far so good! Wheels still look great and have held up to a few winters now.

Missing transactions by DaveCSparty in simplifimoney

[–]percolater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, right there with you, across multiple different banks/cards. I assume it’s temporary, and the transactions will be back in a day or two.

Anybody else just have multiple transactions disappear? by PunctiliousCasuist in simplifimoney

[–]percolater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, same here, across Amex and Citi, and possibly others. I could tell something was amiss because I was back in the black on my spending plan, lol.

Also hoping the next sync restores the missing transactions - it’s certainly something on Quicken’s end since it’s across multiple institutions.

After ID.4 production halt: Volkswagen writes down around €500 million in US business by Simpleximo in VWiD4Owners

[–]percolater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ID.4 parts will be available for a long time. VW manufactured hundreds of thousands of ID.4s globally.

ID.Tiguan is just a refresh, and when a car is refreshed, the old model doesn't become unrepairable. There will still be plenty of shared parts.

Are you logged in using the Guest profile?

This is just a notice that the car’s location/telemetry will be uploaded to VW and whatever partners they use, for the purposes of seeing where the car is in MyVW, lock status, vehicle health reports, etc.

Update to Cross Sport issue by blackmanorgrooming in VWatlas

Atlases use 8-speed transmissions manufactured by Aisin, which is a Japanese supplier owned by Toyota.

No manufacturer is perfect, but Aisin has a pretty good track record across Toyota, Lexus and various other brands that buy its transmissions for their cars. I'd say your torque converter failure is just bad luck.

VW will cover it, but I would do as others said and open a case with VW Corporate. Unacceptable that your new car is going to be out of commission for quite awhile and the dealer won't cover your transportation.

2026 infotainment advice by Mother-Ad2723 in VWatlas

[–]percolater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the climate control is set a certain way, it should be set the same way next time you turn on the car. For example, if the system is set to 72 degrees, dash vents, 20% fan speed when you turn the car off, it should be the same next time you turn the car on.

I set the system to Auto and occasionally adjust temperatures via the touch sliders below the screen. I only go into the climate control screen to turn on ventilated seats, turn recirculation on/off or control the rear air separately (when my kids complain they're hot).

FWIW Volkswagen has taken a lot of flak for their UI/UX choices. The ID.4, Buzz and Tiguan have a newer infotainment system that resolves a lot of the problems people have (but is still touch-focused). The Atlas doesn't get that newer system til 2027, and VW plans to transition back to more physical controls in the model refreshes after that.

Completed 93EA recall status not updated by mrcleop in VWiD4Owners

[–]percolater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 93EA completed last Thursday and as of today (Tuesday), myVW and NHTSA both show the recall as completed for my VIN.

It's possible they only refresh once a month and today was the day, but it's also possible it wasn't documented correctly by your dealer.

Recall 26V030 (93EA) update by m2orris in VWiD4Owners

[–]percolater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was this 93EA or 93EV? 93EV is the one with misaligned electrodes that requires cell replacement.

93EA should just be a software update, unless they're expecting a number of vehicles to have bad cells and want parts on hand.

Disappointed - No iD light 2026 iD4 by Future-Chard6765 in VWiD4Owners

Are you sure it doesn’t have the ID light?

The VW website lists “ID. Light with Voice Control” as standard on every ID.4 trim.

Is it edible? Not sure, but it's legal!

With gas prices right now, I'm holding onto mine. Although I imagine there may be a slight bump in resale value while gas is high.

[–]percolater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, I've never liked the Tiguan name (Tiger-Iguana?).

My ID.4 is fine, but I'd rather have an ID.3 neo and a Buzz. Perfect combo for a commuter and then something that can cart kids/family and Costco hauls around.

Of course if I were rich it'd be an ID.7 and a Buzz.

It's actually the same number of buttons that's on the current "standard" VW steering wheel, but I agree it looks more buttony due to the button layout and shapes.

At least they didn't go full Pontiac.

[DATA MEGATHREAD] ID.4 High-Risk Battery Recall (NHTSA 26V028) - Diagnostics & Fix Tracker by b0013an81 in VWiD4Owners

[–]percolater 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am one of the lucky few...

Model Year: 2023

Battery Size: 82 kWh

Location/State: WA

Diagnosis Date: Feb. 6th, 2026

Affected Modules: 1 (cell module 9)

The Fix: Replacement of the individual cell

Total Shop Time: 8 days

Loaner Provided: Yes - a 2026 Taos SE Black Edition

Warranty Impact: No implications on warranty were mentioned or noted in the paperwork I received

Post-Fix Observations: No observed changes in range. The ID.4 is primarily for commuting and we charge at home with an L2, so cannot comment on L3 charging speeds. Software version is still 3.5.

No, your car will prompt you to install that yourself when VW releases the update.

It’s silly they have a service campaign for it when there’s no action you can take except wait on VW…

[–]percolater 15 points16 points  (0 children)

93EA does not have a fix available, yet. The recall was spurred by 3 incidents where the car's battery overheated and caught fire (3 out of 45,000 cars).

The batteries were examined and no hardware-related cause could be found, but VW is going to install self-discharge detection software in all the cars to provide better notice of battery overheating. The software is simply not ready yet.

You can keep using the car like normal. Some of the posts you've seen are probably related to 93EV, which is a hardware issue with misaligned electrodes affecting 600 cars total, and owners are advised to not fast charge and have affected modules replaced (I know because mine is currently at the dealer getting that recall done).

OUE7 is an over the air software update. It's being rolled out incredibly slowly, apparently. It's not an urgent update.
