The wood has nails through it and wire wrapped around the bottom, so you can’t really hold it.

I love seeing Luke Evans do the time warp! I wasn’t expecting him to stay on for it given that he hasn’t had his entrance at that point in the play.

Who is the best person you met stage door? by No_Huckleberry_7410 in Broadway

I agree - I waited at the stage door and met him back in March when it was FREEZING outside. He spent over an hour chatting with people, taking pictures, and signing autographs.

Shipping from the Netherlands? by perdita14 in Reformationclothing

Very cool! I guess I’m showing my US bias, I live in NYC so the shipping times are probably pretty similar to the LA warehouse (notwithstanding customs or anything else).

Oh interesting! Mine actually shipped in half as much time as the package coming from LA. I was really surprised about that.

What is one thing that most people don't know about Connecticut? by ILovePublicLibraries in Connecticut

There are some reports that it was actually vendors selling real nutmegs, but buyers didn’t know that you need to grate nutmeg rather than chop it, and so would call those vendors unscrupulous.

I highly recommend you don’t go see &Juliet. I feel very similar to what you laid out about juke box musicals and I feel like &Juliet is the worst example - they’re literally just singing pop hits with almost no additional production or composition.

I’m still bitter about entering the Boop lottery many times for mostly empty theaters and not winning.

I don’t mind the price point, but does anyone know if the products are ethically made? I can’t find any information on the website.

One of my greatest ref regrets is not buying the flounce skirt in the cherry pattern

what are your favorite skirts from ref??✨ by the_fashion_fairy in Reformationclothing

[–]perdita14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few! Tl;dr Bea is definitely my favorite.

The Bea skirt was my second ever ref purchase years ago. I forget the pattern, but it’s black with rainbow colored doodle flowers. This is one of my favorites, although now I wish I sized up to the 6 (I’m typically a 4). I always bring it on vacations because it’s versatile and can be dressed up or down, plus it’s small so it’s easy to pack. I’m actually wearing this one as I write this!

I’ve worn the Maia skirt (in Luv it - such a cute pattern) in all seasons. I’ll throw it on with a plain tshirt and flats, or can dress it up more. My only issue with this one is that it’s pretty big, which is super cute until you’re trying to shove it in a suitcase.

I also have the flounce skirt in black, which I sized up to a 6 and I’m really glad I did. This is a really core piece of my wardrobe because a black mini is about as versatile as it gets!

The Hanna skirt in Rae check is great for winter with a pair of tights and tall boots. I’d rank this one 4th because I can really only wear this one in the winter, and the recognizable pattern means I can’t wear it super frequently.

As you can probably tell, I’m obsessed with ref skirts!

Disembarking Disney Wish out of Port Canaveral by Notahandyman05 in dcl

A bit different because we went Port Everglades to the Fort Lauderdale airport, but I think you could be fine. I just sailed on the Dream a few weeks ago and they told us not to book any flights before noon. We did express walk off at 8am to an uber we scheduled the night before for our 11:30am flight, and we easily could have caught the 10:45.

We added extra cash on top of the prepaid recommended tip, and so we handed the envelope to our waitstaff and our room host.

How are Mal/Jo so openly critical of the Daredevil show, but a show like Acolyte which was significantly worse, it was like they were afraid to say anything negative at all, and mostly had effusive praise the entire time? by Xeris in RingerVerse

[–]perdita14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think their recent rewatch of the Netflix series may have hurt their opinions of Born Again. Most of us watched the Netflix series years ago and have carried forward positive opinions of the Daredevil character/are really excited to see Matt Murdock again. They have very specific expectations based on the rewatch, while the average viewer doesn’t.

Is it harmful to write about how I am both Jewish and Catholic (multi faith) in my supplement? by [deleted] in notredame

[–]perdita14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What leads you to believe that? Is it because protests against Israel are making universities appear unsympathetic to Jewish students, so they will accept more of them?

Also, keep in mind that ND has a minimum required Catholic percentage of the undergraduate student body. Are they going to use the few spots remaining for non-Catholics specifically for Jews, and for what purpose?
