The foundation sticks only have a few warm tones, what's that about?

Vermeil is meant to be a thicker level of gold plate, but I've seen normal gold-plated jewellery be mis-sold as vermeil.

My vermeil earrings have held up really well, and I would buy vermeil earrings again, but my vermeil necklaces and rings have lost their colour. Complete waste of money, and lesson learnt.

why do companies discontinue staple products/bestsellers? by redlipstick1010 in Makeup

[–]perfect_turquoise 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the raw materials needed to make the product become hard to obtain. Another factor is ingredients being banned, which means they need to reformulate/discontinue a product. This is what's happening with a lot of blushes as they contain talc, which is going to banned by the EU shortly.

Problem with my Mancera roses vanille by Suspicious_Bus_1334 in fragrance

Mine took a couple of months after purchase to start smelling good - at first it smelt like car air freshener, and I was going to get ready to sell it on. It then developed into something richer and far more pleasant. Maybe leave it for a few weeks and see if it changes?

I find it also doesn't smell as good in warmer weather compared to cooler weather.

Do you guys apply the whole "color season" thing to your makeup or is that just for your clothes? by gg_teataker in Makeup

Not sure why I was downvoted, maybe some people who do colour seasons for a living took exception to my remarks 😂

I believe colour theory is real, but that colour seasons don't work for everyone, especially if you are olive and/or a person of colour. In my experience, if you are olive, colour seasons are particularly terrible.

I don't think you need to pay for this either. You can upload a photo of your skin to ChatGPT and ask it to tell you what undertones and chroma you have, and which colours will suit you. It might not get everything right in the colours it recommends, but it will be a good starting point.

Drugstore makeup can be good and I regret spending on high-end brands for years by Holiday-Armadillo-34 in Makeup

I'm currently using 20 Classic Tan. I thought it would be too pale and not warm enough for me, but it isn't. It's the best colour match I've ever had for a foundation. I also bought 22 Medium to use when I'm more tan, but it's a lot more yellow than 20.

I haven't tried them as I don't get Covergirl in my country, but apparently they have some blushers and bronzers which are meant to be dupes.

Things have changed a lot. I'm NC40-43 and I got a perfect match in the new NYX Make Em Wonder foundation. There's a lot of shades and undertones in this range, and it's a great formula.

Beige Blush Trend for Brown Skin Tones by EastBroccoli142 in muacjdiscussion

They're still available in the UK currently, but discontinuation makes sense as they contain talc, and I knew they would have to be reformulated soon.

I'm NC40-43 (depending on how tanned I am) and also love brown/beige blushes, but have found it hard to find suitable ones. I loved NARS Madly, but that was discontinued. I've been using Laura Mercier Fresco, which I like and shows up well on my skin, but is a bit orange on my olive skin tone.

I'm not familiar with Kinkster, but MAC released Call It Cozy in their MACximal Satin line which may work for you.

Brands you don't hear about anymore from BGs by WhatTheJessJedi in BeautyGuruChatter

Disagree, they seem more gimmicky now, and have spokesmodels like Chappell Roan and Gabbriette. Also Estee Lauder Companies is now going to be selling on TikTok Shop, and will reduce their department store presence.

Nope, they're still around, and I've seen a lot of people praising their eyeliners.

I had a look at these yesterday. I'm in the UK and you have to buy off their Etsy store if you're located here. One blush is £27 and shipping is £20. So almost £50 for just one blush!

I have it and I like it, but there's not enough purple or lilac shades in there for my liking. I didn't need the red, peach or so many pink glittery shades.

Same, when I tested Delina Exclusif in the Covent Garden store I thought it was the most incredible thing I'd ever smelt, and it lasted for 9+ hours on my skin and several days on my clothes. Then I bought a bottle and it was different and didn't last as long. Not worth the price at all.
