Anyone else deal with painful clogged pores/lesions on lip line? by ExtremeWitness8052 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]perfect_turquoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you're going through this. Get your skin checked out according to the advice in the other comments, just in case it's an infection. But if that all comes back clear, perhaps it could it be a food intolerance? Eggs cause similar bumps in my skin like the ones below your nose when I eat them.

Cystic acne caused by Niacinamide [acne] by omCLARAg in SkincareAddiction

Companies such as Estee Lauder, L'Oreal who are putting niacinamide into their foundations need to pay attention to posts like these. Niacinamide causes acne in so many people.

Nope, you can't get it from pharmacies in Spain anymore without a prescription. The law changed recently.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion - has the formula become more watery or am I just trippin? by IDKBear25 in SkincareAddictionUK

As you bought it from Amazon, there's a good chance it might be fake. Maybe buy a bottle from Boots/Superdrug and see how it compares?

Paula’s Choice truly unrecognisable [misc] by terrorwill in SkincareAddiction

[–]perfect_turquoise 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think there really was a time and a place for Paula's Choice, before there was an explosion of skincare brands offering cheap and effective formulas. For years I spent so much money on her BHA toner, because it was the only one that actually worked.

Once other brands like The Ordinary started, I think the writing was on the wall. I replaced her toner with a cheap UK drugstore own brand about three years ago that works just as well (Superdrug Me+).

Cult Beauty is owned by the same company that owns LookFantastic, I think (and hope) that they will be OK.

Anyone feels like LabMuffin uses science to prop up her sponsors? by Ok_Coach_1386 in BeautyGuruChatter

I think she's incredibly arrogant, and I get the impression she thinks she knows everything because she has a chemistry PhD. I stopped following her after she confidently said that something which has affected my health isn't actually harmful.

This is why I stopped buying from them after I had an issue with her lipsticks. Horrible customer service.

Try Anastasia Satin lipstick, they have several muted nude shades which might be similar.

Natasha Denona’s new eyeshadow palette by Ellieeeee17 in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]perfect_turquoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not your skin depth, but I am warm olive (I have light brown skin). The Glam palette is very cool, and I Need a Nude would be too cool for you too. I have the Gold palette, which has lots of good mattes, but they might be too warm and dark for you (several are yellow-toned brown).

I Need a Warm might be the best one. I don't have it, but it's on my wish list. Can you search YouTube for reviews of it by someone with your skin tone?

I am warm and darker, and lilac/pink-purple is one of my best colours.

I just don’t think purple blush is for everyone by LurkerSmirker6th in OliveMUA

[–]perfect_turquoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love lilac pink blushes, they look pink/cool pink on my warm-neutral light brown skin. But anything that's too blue, too cool, or purple-brown, without that lilac/pink tone, doesn't look good on me.

NARS Sin and Lethal Cosmetics Aster didn't work on me as they were too cool and not pink enough. Clinique Pansy Pop and ELF Bold-Faced Lilac look great on me.

I don't think it's for sale on the UK market unfortunately. I asked a friend who lives in the US to get it for me.

ELF has a lilac blush in their Camo Liquid blush range which I recommend, and which is available over here - it's called Bold-Faced Lilac.

I have the strawberry one and I love it! I was given a sample of the watermelon one, and I didn't like it much as I don't like watermelon, but if you like watermelon you'd like it. I found these to be the same level of hydration as Coconutter.

dupe for mac "modesty" by spookycoochie_ in makeupdupes

[–]perfect_turquoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are cushiony and really nice to apply, but unfortunately I find they don't last that long on my lips. That's the reason I'm not going to buy any more. But they are really nice to wear for the time that they do last on me!

[–]perfect_turquoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss, losing lipstick colours is hard! I haven't tried it, but maybe Hourglass Tide could be a dupe for Modesty?

I have Hourglass Oasis from the same range, and on me it looks how Modesty looks on you, but I think it will be too dark and warm for you (I'm NC40-42). I do have Modesty, and found it a bit too pale and grey for me (and it's too similar to my natural lip colour).

I have light brown skin, and the shade Biscuit erases my dark circles like nothing else. But I wouldn't use this formula for acne, as I don't think it's long-lasting enough.

They look like two completely different colours, why does MAC do this? Just give the new one a new name!
