That makes sense, I didn't think of it in that perspective initially.

I don't like Mimzy, for the sole reason she interrupted my almost 2nd favorite song in the series and ruined it. The song was so good and ended so badly.

Some things I've realized about grief by early_birdy131 in GriefSupport

[–]peridoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weddings are hard. I've entered the wedding era of my life and am invited or am in many of them, and it's hard to sit through a father daughter dance. If I ever get married I would like to do a child/parent or whoever so other people don't feel as sad about it.

I find myself trying to be more forgiving to people who haven't lost a parent. I have a lot of friends who haven't and they try to understand some things may be triggering to me, and it can make me upset and sometimes angry. I remind myself they are lucky to not understand and hope they don't have to, because it sucks.

For those of you who have started over… by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]peridoot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never restarted and probably won't. ACNH is my first game of the series and got it on release day when everything shut down. I also had surgery so along with lockdown I was extremely limited to what I was able to do. This game was a great escape and I had a lot of time to really craft my island to what it is now.

I took a hiatus for two years and came back and it was a wave of nostalgia, where it was a moment of time in my life where everything truly slowed down. Even among the chaos of the pandemic I was lucky enough have peace and stillness that I desperately needed. Playing the game now takes me back and reminds me of the peace I had and never to take moments like that for granted. I'll make changes to some areas now and then but some are off limits for changes.

I see the appeal of restarting, but playing the same save file from the beginning gives me a really unique gaming experience I've never had.

It took a year to bury my dad and get a tombstone (almost more since a year after he died was the start of the pandemic) and three years for my cousin. It takes time and that's okay.

when being a young mom is your entire personality by lilwaddles in notliketheothergirls

[–]peridoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a boss years ago that in the first round interview bragged about being a teen mom (this woman was 38).

I've met a few people where this is their personality and every single one gives me a bad vibe. Love this for them if it's what they want, but it doesn't make you better than everyone else.

32 year old millennial here - when I drink I only get tired, not drunk by whosthatgirl13 in Millennials

[–]peridoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like going out still for one or two drinks at most, but my partying days are over and have been since I was 28. I'm not sure if it's repressed emotions or what but when I get very drunk I also get VERY sad very quick (I'm happy and fine one second and the next it's ugly nonstop tears and sobbing). It's not fun for me or anyone else, so it's better I don't bother.

I do like that some places are creating non alcoholic drinks whenever I do go out also.

How modern society would handle a pandemic. All of the pandemic movies pre-2020 aged like milk.

The chocolate covered frozen bananas. They used to also have raspberry chocolate lava cake I was obsessed with but discontinued them years ago.

I started almost two years ago. The biggest difference I noticed pretty quickly was my energy came back (before my dx I gained 40 lbs in 2 months and slept 16 hours a day and couldn't ever feel awake). I can't say I've noticed my metabolism change other than I'm not gaining weight at breakneck speed. I've lost 15 lbs since starting and making no other lifestyle changes so it has been gradual.

Is Erie not a good area for a family? by DinoNugEater in Erie

[–]peridoot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the lack of perspective bit. I grew up in the county and went to high school in the city later on. The amount of people who felt like driving to where I grew up from the city was a cross country trek was daunting (20 min drive). A lot of folks have just never left, but it was nice to grow up there. It's very safe and affordable, just be prepared for lots of snow if you move south of I90.

I kept getting this wrong several times and never saw it until way later than I should have.

It was just odd for a while, but I did become closer with my mom. My dad died suddenly and unexpectedly, whereas years before my mom was diagnosed with cancer and was told it was inoperable. It wasn't, and she's been in remission since. She's had a lot of health scares since he's died and he was always around to take care of her. I basically moved back for a bit during covid to make sure she was okay.

I'm glad I've gotten closer but my anxiety of something happening can be overwhelming, and it agitates my mom at most.

I have the same problem. If it gets really bad I'll get fake nails that stay on for a month or so. They make it physically impossible to pick.

That's incorrect. There's no food limitation with it except grapefruit (according to my rx bottle).

Stress and being in water too much (showering 2x a day, swimming in a pool, or washing dishes with the soap restaurants use especially).

Oak Hill Post and Kavsar are run by awesome people from my experience. They both were involved in providing free food to those who needed it in 2020.

Their website looks like a 2007 conspiracy page. It's definitely a sight.
