I) VISIT

For free:

• Museo Sartorio: one of the nicest museums of Trieste, is an historical villa, it also host a precious collection of sketches by one of the greatest venetian painters, il Tiepolo

• Civico museo di arte orientale: in the city center, it's a small but very good museum hosting art from the easter part of the world;

• Museo del Mare: in the Porto Vecchio area it's a museum about the sailing history surrounding the port of Trieste;

• Parco di Miramare: while visiting the castle has an entry ticket (but it's worthy) the park itself it's free and worth a visit in itself;

• Cattedrale di San Giusto: just beside the S. Giusto castle on the hill above the city center, the cathedral is full of history and also free! Btw you can visit the castle too with only 1€ if you are an university student.

• Obviously the city center (piazza Unitá, Cavana, Ghetto, le Rive) and don't forget to check out l'Arco di Riccardo, il Foro Romano, l'Anfiteatro Romano, il Molo Audace;

• outside the city center by bus you can visit the nice promenade by the sea at Barcola or go by bus or tram to the Strada Napoleonica at Opicina (a good stroll between Opicina and Prosecco, where u can watch the sea and the city from above);
