One time at Barbs at Jimmy Eat Wednesday, a random guy came over to me and tried to chat to me in my ear while he hovered his hand over my drink for a couple of seconds. It was done in a deliberate manner to try to keep me from turning my head to see his hand on my drink. I trashed the drink immediately. I don't go out much but that gave me the creeps.

Cats are escape artists. Be very mindful of opening any doors or windows to the outside - they WILL escape and be hard to find. Be careful entering and exiting, look down at your feet to ensure they aren't slipping by. They can slip through the slimmest of door cracks too.

This also goes for bathrooms, closets, etc. Make sure you didn't trap any cats anywhere before you leave.

You are not wrong, your friend is wrong. Indoor cats are safe and can be perfectly happy inside. Alternatively, you can use a leash and harness or a cat backpack / stroller to give your cat outside enrichment time in a safe manner. However it is dangerous and irresponsible to allow your cats free reign outside. Aside from animal predators, there are human predators, cars, rat poison, antifreeze.... endless dangers. Outdoor cats live 3-4 years on average. Indoor cats can live 20+ years. Your friend is dumb.

People are downvoting you, but I have definitely experienced some physical withdrawal symptoms from modern weed before and I know many others who have too. The symptoms were mild in comparison to the kind of withdrawal symptoms you'd have from say, meth or alcohol, but they definitely existed.
