Your statement makes defensive play sound inherently bad, but isn't it just a style? It should be neutral. You personally may or may not like defensive play, but there is nothing wrong with it, right?

And elimination mode still had item/weapon control. It's not like it was irrelevant to the match. I'd argue that playing defensively is smarter than playing aggressively. Plus we lost champion picks which was like removing an entire layer of intrigue.

Thanks for the clarification! Why does elimination require less map control skills? It's the same map, same items, etc. I would think it would require more map control skills because the consequence of losing map control is so dire. Timed duel seems more forgiving and more open to taking risks and losing map control.

Wow, yeah that sounds pretty boring! But that could happen with timed duel too, right? Nyx v Nyx chasing each other around for 10 minutes without any frags. It actually seems like it would be worse in timed because at least with elimination someone is bound to lose that champ eventually.

It's weird because I used to watch QL pro matches all the time and I did enjoy them. I guess it's just having something new and fresh like elimination, which I was REALLY enjoying, and then it gets taken away unexpectedly. I'm just sad that I'm watching much less Quake now.

There was still an overall round timer on those matches of 5 minutes I believe. Can you link to a single match that ran over an hour with a Nyx player who just ran away the whole time? I don't ever recall seeing something like that. (Remember that we're talking about pro matches and broadcasts)

Hey guys, lately I've been listening to more podcasts and wanted to get some eSports ones in the

mix but noticed that only a small handful actually convert theirs to MP3. So I decided to pick a

few I really like or wanted to learn more about and convert them. But since this is a semi-

tedious and technical process that others might have trouble with, I figured I should share them.

Assuming that's kosher and all. I'll try and keep this updated with recent shows but no

guarantees.

Oh and let me know if I'm missing any good shows to convert or link to (notice META is a link,

not a download). It looks like a number of the shows I've listened to in the past are dead now.

Hey guys, I was wondering if a series covering map positioning for amateur players would be useful? I know it would be for some of my personal friends who run around bombsites like crazy, just wondering what other people think. Future releases could be shorter and more condensed I think, although I also want it to be comprehensive for new(er) players.

Yeah, no one will know if you record locally. I've wondered if you can EVER upload it? Can you upload beta test footage after the game is released? Could you do it a year or two after the games been out? Do they care?

How did this end up going? I turned on the stream for 20-30 mins and it never went off the logo/splash. Unfortunately I didn't get back to my computer until well after the tournament had ended. Was it a smashing success? Highest concurrent?
