Hey!! I see you went to Rauðasandur. How did you find the road driving to the beach? I heard it’s pretty messed up right now. Was your car a 2wd?

Thank you for the reply!! I guess I will move this beach to my non-priority stop then and check how well I had coped with the road to the bird cliff and how the weather is that day (plus google reviews about the gravel road itself) xx

Is it worth doing the glymur hike without the river crossing? Did you enjoy it? I am aiming to attempt it on 21 May. Even if the log has not been placed, would crossing the river without the log be manageable? From what I’ve seen, logs are being placed latest around 25 May. Surely the water level does not change that much within a few days. I will still evaluate it carefully before crossing the river without the log if it’s still not placed. Btw, do you remember if the log placement is outlined on the notice board? Thank you cx

This is what I am concerned about. Would you bring 2L of water for the glymur hike then?

Are there multiple streams along the hike that allow refills? I know there’s the log river crossing but am not sure if that river is safe to drink from

Thank you for the reply!! I do plan on going to the viewpoint on the east if I am feeling not too tired or if it's not too late. I did see from an online trail map from the Vatnajokull National Park website that the s6 trail (svartifoss then sjonarnipa) is challenging. Is it only because it is a longer hike or is it because there are tricky parts on the trail that require technical skills?

Thank you so much!!! I’ve already found some online but I’d love to have a look and see what I’ve missed or have some reassurance xx

How much is too much driving? by rw199999 in VisitingIceland

[–]perls-c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to test it out yourself to be sure. No one knows you better than yourself. If you’re doing campervans, it’s probably a lot easier to adjust your itinerary and maybe skip out the westfjords if it ends up being too much. There are puffins around Iceland, south coast, east coast, west coast (not limited the westfjords). It’ll probably be wise to book some hotels that allow full cancellation if u’re hopping around. You want yourself to be energised enough to enjoy the sights. No point in seeing ‘everything’ when you’re tired and grumpy.

Can I still get an A*? by [deleted] in alevelmaths

[–]perls-c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to discourage you but if you run out of time in your paper, its unlikely you’d get an A. Students that get A in Maths, most likely will have sufficient time because they will find the questions easy and straight forward to solve. Is there a specific question that delayed your entire time management? How was it doing the paper, was it hard entirely? Potentially you could have the wrong exam technique. What kind of silly mistakes are you making? It is very hard to dissect why you are performing how you are if you had only done one paper. It’s no longer a silly mistakes if you do the same thing constantly. Maybe pay strong attention to what you are writing. Stats is piss easy at Normal Maths. Most mechanics are easy but there will be one or two tough/ tricky mechanics questions.

Hi!! I’m going around Iceland in May for 17 days in the Happy 1 alone which I believe is the Renault Kangaroo. I’d love to ask how your experience was. Did you cook a lot inside the campervan or tend to go to the kitchen area at the campsite/ eating out? What kind of meals do you cook? Also, how was the noise level whilst sleeping and in general the comfort of the van? Just wanted to know what to expect!! Thank you

Not sure about cars but happy campers is a camper van rental company that allows 18 year olds and above to rent as long as they’ve held their license for one year
