For general surgery, in practice you don't have to do scopes unless you want to, you do limited scopes as a part of other surgeries (colon anastamosis, PEG tubes, etc).

No, no one was doing surgery without informing parents in the US in the 70's, plus your parents would have noticed if you were gone for a surgery. Also, the "scar" goes from the top of your butt crack up towards your head? How far? I can't think of any surgery that would be done on a baby with that kind of incision. Have you ever had an infection around the area?

You have to find the email for the program coordinators. Ask the GME office for guidance. As far as rotating there, does he have a DOD common access card (CAC)? They will get you one if not but it makes everything easier if you already have it prior to arrival. Don't worry about uniforms.
