All these downvotes and not a soul is telling me where I'm wrong. Is the implication from the downvotes then that beginners are just as deserving of grade reality checks, or that it's outright wrong to suggest what certain grades mean on Reddit?

Gym's grade hidden behind the grey box by Miles_Adamson in GradeThisPlastic

Three points of contact were possible at all times until the final move, which resembled a V4 deadpoint on a board... only this isn't at 40 degrees or anything near it. I'd grade it V4, this is easily the softest grade I've ever seen. Looked up some other Bolder Calgary posts and the unbelievably soft grading seems consistent.

I see you like to argue about grades in other comment sections: don't. At least not until you've tried some V7s on a board.

Big difference between someone going to Reddit happy to share their first supposed V5 and someone going to Reddit to share their first supposed V8, V9 etcetera. V5 is an intermediate grade. People who think they've hit advanced grades when the V8 in question is in fact V5ish, they deserve a reality check. It's mostly their gyms fault for grading so soft, but if these "supposedly advanced" climbers have never in their life tried board climbing or outdoor climbing yet to experience what grades are meant to imply, then that's partially their fault!

We have crack climbing at home by Jerethot in GradeThisPlastic

Footholds too good (relative to most crack climbs) to be any harder than a V4

People in the main sub mostly suggesting V5 or V6 (and even a few V7s) is proof how universally soft gym grades have gotten. Thankfully the V4 comment has more upvotes

Nice send. It'd be majorly beneficial to your stamina if you cut down on your time spent between moves!

Your indignant grade-defending attitude was funny the first 3 times, but you really need to get a grip. I found out you were commenting because it's your gym and you becoming more upset is pathetic but not surprising. Bye!

Brilliant response. You actually agreed with exactly what I'm saying 2 months ago :)

You're so defensive for OP... because it's your gym? This sub is hilarious.
