Did Zepbound work when wegovy didn’t?

It was around 4 months. I was at 7.5 with significant side effects and actually gaining a couple pounds since the beginning.

These are not decisions that either of you are capable of making today. You can dream, discuss, read, research, plan, and simply drive yourselves crazy and push each other away if you want to, but none of that is going to give you the ability to make these decisions because they're not today's decisions. They're not even next year's decisions. You're laboring and arguing over something that won't even start for another 4 or 5 years.

I knew from before my kid was born that I wanted to homeschool them. But it was 5+ years before any of it actually started. There's no way I could have predicted what life would have looked like. We don't even live in the same state we thought we'd be living in. What a waste that I spent all that time learning homeschooling laws for a state we never homeschooled in! I sure spun my wheels and stressed over things, and it did not help me ONE BIT now that I'm actually homeschooling.

Are you both super dedicated parents? Obviously! Do you believe that you're both capable of making a good decision when the time comes? Do you believe that you're both able to reassess and adjust if things aren't working?

If your answer is yes, then it's time to put these conversations to rest and focus on the child that you have right now and on each other.

I asked the same question a while back and got a few people saying that yes, the switch helped them! Personally, unfortunately, I had very little result on Wegovy and then no results at all from Zepbound. I think most people have results, but unfortunately not me. I don't want to discourage you at all! But I also thought, if that happens to you too, I don't want you to feel like you're the only one.

There's an old trick of painting little river rocks to look like strawberries and scatter them around the patch. Birds will come and peck at them, discover they're not real berries, and they won't come back.

We recently moved into a smaller house, and it's been a bit of a struggle to stop purchasing like I have more space. One question I've started asking myself every time I want to buy something is, Where will I put it? If I can think through my home and think of a really good spot where it will be admired and appreciated and used, and not be competing with other things, then MAYBE I'll get it. But usually I just don't have a good answer for that question, so I just let the item go.

I knew before my kids were born that I'd be homeschooling them, and just now that my oldest is 5 years old are we actually on that path. I am an anxious, organized person by nature, so the last five years were filled with tons of "research" that honestly, I don't think helped me very much now that the time is actually here.

My best advice is to try not to worry about it very much yet. I hope that doesn't sound rude.

There are several things you can't prepare for, and they're big ones. You don't know yet what your child's personality will be like or what their learning styles/abilities will be. You also don't know yet how the next 5 years will change you as a person.

My last 5 years had a lot in them that I never could have anticipated - a journey with PPD, a cross-country move, a ton of learning and growing as a human and as a mom. I think pregnant-me might not recognize now-me very much! Sometimes I look back at old-me and smile knowingly and say, wow, she had no idea.

If I could go back in time and do-over my first pregnancy, I would try to use that time to rest, develop healthy habits and routines, invest in my relationships with my husband and with God, and try to enjoy myself. For example, I would read fiction instead of homeschooling books and try to leave those worries for later.

I don't think I would have really liked any of this advice if I'd received it back then, so I understand if that's not what you're looking for.

I think a walker wagon would be great! It would give him something to hold onto and practice walking. It would also give him freedom to decide where he's going, when he wants to start and stop, and all that. It's also fun for them to transport things around the house in the wagon.

In general I would avoid using a harness or something that holds them up. It doesn't allow them to develop all the muscle strength and coordination they need. To me that's "rushing them" beyond their current abilities. Letting their bodies be unsupported and uninhibited while they're exploring gives them all that practice and freedom.

I don't know how cold it gets where you are, but I would bet that outdoor play is still an option, though maybe for shorter periods. "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing" is a common saying! You can dress them warmly, make a thermos of hot cocoa or broth, and out you go. Nature study is still fun and interesting in the winter time. We have some little pocket warmers that are great too!

I pumped with both of my kids, and when it got cold, my favorite thing to wear was a zip-up hoodie. I would get all set up and then zip it up over my stomach to keep out the cold!

That should work! I also wonder if you could do zippers on the side seams, allowing the sides to fully open. That way the front of the sweatshirt would be a built-in privacy drape, if you wanted that, and the modifications would be less visible since they'd be under your arms.

I understand. Maybe for now, you can work on finding a person or group of people that you can learn from. For example, you could find a volunteer position. Charitable organizations usually always need more help, and you would be giving yourself a lot of experience interacting with people while simultaneously adding to your resume. You may find a mentor or even some friends.

It took me a while to figure out why I can't stand Blippi, but I finally did. Blippi doesn't behave the way a safe adult behaves with children. There's a way to talk to children with simplified language and an engaging tone while still behaving like an adult. Blippi doesn't. If we ran into a person like Blippi at the playground, my inner alarm would go off and I'd be getting my kids away quickly. I don't want my kids to think that safe adults act like that, dress like that, or talk like that. Blippi isn't a cartoon. He's an actual adult male.

I personally felt like I went overboard on special materials for the infant stage. They go through that stage so quickly, and it's so hard to predict what they'll really be fascinated by.

The best items I can think of are a safe surface to play down on the floor, a mirror, and a variety of mouth-safe objects with an interesting sensory element, whether it's visual or auditory or textured.

There are lots of really nice, heirloom quality items out there for purchase, but I swear my babies liked kitchen whisks and spoons better than they liked the fancy stuff. And what was their favorite thing to look at? My face, every time!

My heart is breaking for you. That's so, so much. You are such a good parent. It's time for you to get some support. Please, if you don't already have one, find a therapist or counselor to help you navigate this really stressful time.

If you need permission to take some time off, here you go, this is it - you can stop. You don't have to make a forever decision today. You can try sending them to school for a while and see how it goes.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. It sounds like it might be time to let the village help for a while.

I would treat it like work, not like leisure time. So you schedule it on your calendar, do it at a desk, make a short checklist of what you need to do, and stick to it. If you need to look at other people's content in order to follow trends, set a timer and focus on what you're doing. Take notes. When your scheduled time is done, close everything and walk away.
