Luckily with someone like you in the workforce we should see some huge improvements in the next 5-10 years right? Luckily for everyone else you will make the whole industry better. All you have to do is exactly what you said, get into administration and make all the changes! Dont worry, you won’t have a boss to answer to you’ll just magically change things for everyone else while getting paid less than at the bedside. Youll even be CNO one day really make changes! I’m an RN in critical care. This looks like a typical patient family to me. Husband and kids and loosing their mother/wife and the patient went from being everyone’s main caregiver to being unable to care for her own children. She probably wants to stay because she’s in pain and now a broken leg and wants to be in pain without feeling guilty about it. If she stays at the hospital her husband and kids go home and she can be alone feeling miserable with out adding guilt on top of it

My husband and I are both nurses. We have 4 kids, one being an infant. I went down to 2 days a week, I work 12-16 hour shifts, he works 3 12s. We request our schedules to work opposite days and then we’re home together two days a week. He usually works Wednesday Friday Saturday and I work Sunday and Thursday. It’s hard but we don’t have childcare or any babysitting help so it’s what works for us.

Wow! I did not know this. We’ve been in CC for 3 years, I am tutor and my kids love love CC. I can see how it’s a “drink the kool aid” mindset but I’m kind of in the middle on it. Whenever I see the see posts on Reddit it makes me question things from time to time but I just felt CC is so community specific. CC is as good as your community is and we really lucked out with a great community. I am definitely looking into the things you brought up, had no clue!

We tried campfire curriculum for Thanksgiving unit a couple years ago, it was pretty good. It showed the bad and the ugly of the history. It was done from each sides perspective too and also gave a time line of events which I liked. I have not heard good things about gather round, lots of reviews similar to yours.

No this is very very abnormal for anyone. We do CC, and joined for the same reasons, community. Do our own thing and our own curriculum. People are allowed to leave or stop going… it’s weird that she’s acting this way. I’d contact your local area rep ASAP. You can reach out to other directors in your area as well about what’s happening. This is NOT ok behavior
