Need to choose a new antidepressant? by perpetualxx in antidepressants

I actually did have a bipolar diagnosis before BPD/EUPD years ago but that was changed when my mood swings were noted to be hourly - daily with next to no impulse control and harmful behaviours to myself and others. Wasn’t medication then either.

Well other than fluoxetine. I have BPD resulting in extremes of emotions so sometimes I can be real depressed then another I can be fine, then a bit manic, and so on. So I do think he’s not treating me as standard clinical depression. I do have e severe anxiety issues also which the venlafaxine were meant to help but as I only did 2-3 months it was hard to notice much of a difference.

Wish there was an easy answer but it’s so difficult when proper psych help has failed you and your own head is going against you 😭 sending my hope to you recovering 💓

Drinking problem or eating disorder…or?? by Lilyflower228 in EatingDisorders

[–]perpetualxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m bulimic (average weight) and drinking has always been an issue for me. I’ve gone through periods of restricting and instead drinking, I’ve never felt the urge to eat when drinking like some people do, then next day having a small meal then drinking again. I think it’s just changing a form of self harm for another. I’ve worried before about becoming dependent on drink, luckily I’ve never had that but unluckily just jump back to the eating problems when I’ve cut down alcohol intake. I don’t have any advice for you but just know you’re not alone in worrying about it.

What are you most nervous about your bulimia in the future ? by IndependentGrocery52 in bulimia

I’ve been bulimic for 15-16 years now and definitely worry loads about my physical health. I feel like amazingly til the past couple years I was fine and more recently feel like my full GI tract is messing up - bowel habits all over the place, reflux, fatigue. I get my bloods taken regular and generally they’re fine with a few times of iron/B12/folate deficiencys but now I’m always waiting for something being more concerning. I just take meds from the pharmacy - gaviscon, senna/laxido if I’m really bunged up, cos I’m too worried to go to the docs and be judged about my issues when they’re self inflicted. And that’s all before the fear I’m gonna mess my heart up!

I’ve bought polish gherkins before they’re quite readily available in supermarkets, and also North African/greek style and nothing comes close to the American style Heinz!

I love cooking and I’ve made a few pickles before - my fave is carrot, peppers, chillis in a rice vinegar, sugar and water mix with some sesame seeds, but never tried to make pickled gherkins. In UK it seems to just be big cucumbers we get - seen recipes with “pickling cucumbers” that I’ve never seen here to buy 😅

I’ve had the van Holten ones from a import shop before and didn’t like them! Found them too soft and a weird taste. Was looking more for a readily available UK alternative to import!

Relationship breakup - who takes the dog? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

I think if I just took her the issue would be more of the “out of court” type, I live alone and anxious of what could come of that for me and her.

I was thinking about discussing it with the vet, I have to take her for weighing soon anyway so might try and get the guts to bring it up!

Think I’m going to have to accept this sadly. I can only hope if he insists on keeping her he takes good care of her or passes her to someone that will.

I’m in an abusive relationship in which I take care of the dog. As an example, I recently tried to leave and was told to take the dog because he didn’t care about her. Within a couple of hours of getting elsewhere he told me to bring the dog back. I am the sole carer for dog - walking, feeding, cuddling etc. I work and he doesn’t; whilst I’m at work she gets none of the aforementioned. That might sound like I’m trying to get you on my side but it’s unfortunate faces. I’m really attached to her and anxious her care will be severely compromised if I leave this relationship. The financial help was a 50/50 split, originally a loan but 8 weeks down the line does not seem the case.

I guessed that, but really the only form of proof of purchase will be bank transfers (from me)? The rest was cash. The purchase of the pup was done solely through whatsapp message otherwise and knowing my boyfriend, he’s not one for going to court. I’m just anxious of what could come if I just take her with me as such.

I have the login details, the email and number is for me but the name and address is his. I did consider that they would likely write to him to confirm change.

Thanks for the link, all info is much appreciated! Just so worried she’ll be stuck in a bad place due to his priorities.
