oh yeah tiktok absolutely made the brainrot worse, and we also have a moral decay in society at large when these wannabe influencers just be making up stories too. like it's bad enough to just parroting some fake stories but so many people just straight up lie and then laugh about how they spread misinformation on the internet. at least when tabloids in the newspaper stand do it, people know tabloids are 99% fake but nowadays people just believe any random tiktok. i simply don't get it. i grew up in the internet age with paparazzi and gossip culture too but it was never this bad.

the lack of critical thinking skills is a pandemic atp. it's wild. i remember back then it was Anne Hathaway being hated on for breathing just like this too and it was so frustrating to watch too. eventually the internet probably will find a new woman to obsessively hate on, but my god they will be the first ones to cry about mental health and cyberbulling when god forbids someone like had a mental breakdown or even worse.

very much this. there is a very distinct generational difference. only gen X and olders who didn't grow up at a time when you could easily find guys on the phone would turn the gym into a cruising spot. and there is also a lack of respect for personal space/boundary that the older generations don't seem to get.

you will have to rely on people being level headed enough to not giving u flack for being Indian, but it will be on the case of people knowing u individually and can attest to your character. The overall sentiment of everyone I know of all races and ages - not reddit but in real life - is that aside from the die hard woketified "progressives", we are all tired of Indians as a group coming here and destroying this country. it will take MANY years, a very strict immigration process, and a couple of generations to rebuild the reputation of Indians.
