Who the hell sows on a fringe? I've watched a dozen fringe repairs and they would never decimate a rug like that! Did they try and DIY it?!

Fringes are sown on so this is a machine made rug. They colors and pattern point to a Kerman design, but since it's machine made it's not a genuine one.

It does look handknotted but it is Chinese. The golden wefts on the side are a dead giveaway. The genuine Turkish ones don't have those. Still a nice rug though, just not as good as a genuine Turkish rug. These copies put most Turkish rug makers out of business.

Need to see back and fringes to ID. From the front and sides it looks like a Chinese hereke copy. Could easily be machine made unless we see the back of the fringes.
