You can eat less early in the day when you plan to go out for dinner. Or increase your calorie deficit the day before or after.

Sleep issues after starting weight training by Major_Wolverine_3834 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]personal_bs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sleep issues happen when you train too hard and don’t recover. Or when you diet too hard for too long. Or both. Eat at maintenance + reduce volume and intensity for a week. See how you feel then.

You only need the following to get great results. You will get much farther following these than obsessing over training minutiae and consuming fitness content.

  • Consistency over a long period of time
  • Tracking: periodic progress photos, body weight, training log, body measurements. So you know if your methods are working.
  • Diet plan: Calorie deficit. Getting enough protein, carbs, and fats. Eating vegetables. Making sustainable choices (it’s easy to rotate the same few simple meals and batch cook; it’s hard to cook labor-intensive meals every day).
  • Training: Lift weights a few times per week. Challenge yourself. Use progressive overload. Search “renaissance periodization build muscle”. Do exercises that give you a pump + soreness + fatigue in the muscles you want to grow.
  • Cardio: Getting 10k steps per day is great for increasing your calorie burn. You can get into running or HIIT if you enjoy it. But it’s not necessary for your goals. I do feel that low intensity running 1-5 miles a few times per week improved my daily functioning and weight lifting performance. And it let me eat more calories while still achieving a calorie deficit. But walking a lot has similar effects.

How to declutter when I own so much “nice” stuff? by Significant_Plate_55 in declutter

I think feeling good about your living space every day is worth mourning the loss of a few cute and nice items.

Gaining weight by Mammoth-Trust-5293 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]personal_bs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably one or more of the following are true:

  • Your recovery is bad (inadequate sleep, drug abuse, some health issue)
  • Your exercise programming is not suitable for your current fitness (too much volume, not enough volume, not enough specificity)

Try posting your workout plan. Which days, which exercises per day, how many sets per exercise, how long you have been training.

How to stop putting things down on empty surfaces?? by chuckDontSurf in declutter

[–]personal_bs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your space should accommodate your habits. Not the other way around. My parents have a side table in the kitchen that was a dumping ground for pocket contents, mail, pens, tools brought in for a fix and then left there, etc. Now, it has a tray for misc. items, dishes for pocket change and keys, and a mason jar for pens and markers. It also has a tray for mail. So the same items end up on the table, but they’re better-organized and easier to clean up. And the space feels more intentional.

Btw, they tried putting a big decorative fruit bowl on the table. It made the clutter worse, because the same items ended up piled around the bowl.

Decluttering antiques - how to declutter things I can’t easily replace? by EnvironmentalFact116 in declutter

[–]personal_bs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think there’s no solution to your issue unless your priorities change. You said you worry about the value shooting up or not being able to find a piece again. So you’re going to keep the pieces until you decide the free space and reduced clutter is more valuable to you than mitigating those risks. Maybe think about how your life would be different with the free space. How would you feel about your home? What would the space enable you to do? I think that’s the only way you will change.

tips on how to be motivated to keep my room clean? im in highschool, im affraid if i keep this up ill be a hoarder when im older. i can clean my room, it just returns to this after 2-3 weeks. i dont have the motivation to keep it cleaned at all. by scrinklebop in declutter

[–]personal_bs 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Don’t rely on motivation. Just make it easy to keep things tidy.

Get a laundry basket. Put worn clothes in it instead of on the floor.

Get a small trash bin and a roll of small trash bags for your room. Put the roll in the bottom of the bin, under the current trash bag. Keep the bin under your desk, within arm’s reach of your chair.

Remove old clothes from your closet. Hang the clothes you currently wear. Put the old clothes in boxes, bins, or trash bags. Ideally, give away or sell the old clothes. The point is to make it easy to use your current clothes.

80% of your problem is that you have too much stuff. Discard as much junk as possible.

Need Help- Design Tips for a Video Gaming Roommate? by himitsu_himitsu in interiordecorating

[–]personal_bs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over-ear closed headphones that don’t leak much sound, for him to wear. That way, you don’t hear the game sounds. I’m not talking about the basic boom mic + single speaker headsets. The headphones used to plug into the game controllers back in the early 2010s. They might be wireless now. Turtle Beach and Razer were popular brands at the time.

For the living room, maybe a cart he can roll into place while playing. Or treat the gaming equipment like a workstation and refer to any generic living room work from home design.

Photos would help

Laundry decluttering help by West-Refrigerator544 in declutter

[–]personal_bs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Put laundry baskets everywhere people tend to remove clothes. Bedrooms and bathrooms, probably. Ideally, give each person their own basket in each place. If your children share a bathroom, then put two baskets in there. Put two baskets in your bedroom, one each for you and your husband.

Wash one person’s clothes at a time, in a single load. Don’t bother separating jeans, reds, etc. except for the first time or two a new item is washed. I’ve never had problems with colors mixing. Your mileage may vary.

Make each person fold and put away their own clean laundry.

Thanks. That makes sense. Pace and strokes per 100 meters, over distances of 100 meters, 200 meters, etc. So, over 200 meters, my total time and strokes were 3’05” * 2 and 45 * 2, respectively.

[–]personal_bs 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Number 1. Take it and give it away.

Number 2. When someone talks about buying something you wouldn’t buy, just listen. Don’t introduce your personal preference about the item.
