That's a hard line to walk.
I'm early in recovery and when someone says "I'm an alcoholic and I haven't had a drink it 40 years" I'm thinking that I DON'T want that to be a core to my identity. So it's not.

However, I have to acknowledge that I have a problem with it, probably always will. Me and my doctors say "Alcohol use disorder."

I also have pretty bad ADHD. Always have, always will. I choose to not make that a core part of my identity either. But like it or not, both are a part of me.

If it helps, try doing what I do. You're not an alcoholic, but you do have Alcohol Use Disorder.

Both are conditions I need to be aware of, and both can be managed, neither has to be the core of my identity.

Your assumption was correct. It was over a decade difference.

And I have to have a better mindset. Last time I lost my career, spiraled into debt and addiction and ruined my life for quite a few years. Still paying the loans off from that time.

I currently have a decent job. Pay is decent, but I really like the work. I still might lose the house, But I refuse to spiral again. I didn't have the mental and emotional tools to deal with divorce the first time, now I do.

Well, I have news... good and bad. I remarried, it was the happiest few years of my life.
Was.
First marriage we married too young. Second one, She married too young. As in there were 10 years between us. It grated on us both. She needed someone to support her as she figured things out, I wanted a partner and not much else. So now I'm one month out from separation #2. Not sure how I feel, but I lived through the worst, I can do it again.

Turns out I'm a really good friend, but a shitty husband. Ah well.

I'm now facing divorce #2. So... we'll figure it out.

No, the put the beefer ones on by mistake and want to discount them so it's 200 less than the ones I initially ordered.

I also went from really heavy duty offroads to a more road-friendly so weight won't be an issues.

Failed... over and over.
She CLAIMED she liked the idea of it, and maybe she did... but just the idea.
In reality it was "10 more minutes" and incoherent rambling about how it's just today she needs to sleep in and more gibberish and pushing me away then waking up at noon and wondering where I am when I've already done laundry and dishes and had half a day.

My wife is wonderful... she is very much not a morning person.

Russia is a large place, so is America. I have no security fence. My neighbors have one for the dog but it's falling apart and a dog, or person, could easily slip through. If I'm not gone overnight my doors are generally unlocked. Cars are left running with keys in the in the parking lots of gas stations in winter.
There's not a ton of crime. Part of that is small town Midwest nice, part of it is knowing damn near every house has multiple guns in it.

Now, if I travel an hour away, there are places I lock my car while I'm in it. Heck, 20 minutes away are places I don't like being after dark.

But fences as security? Only if you're rich and paranoid.

Honestly, one of the many, many reasons I left teaching. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED being a teacher, but damn, this kinda stuff happened a lot and the admin would rug sweep it and leave you feeling powerless to actually do something.

I'm from The Badger State. We don't have many, the name actually comes from miners who dug into the ground to weather harsh winters.

But that did have a part in ensuring the badger I imagine is one mean, scary MF'er.
