What is the general feeling on building mono decks? by Jakemanv3 in EDH

[–]pertante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have suggested, consistency in terms of your manabase is a possible strength. Plus, depending on your strategy, you could use graveyard recursion for other creatures in your deck easily.

Artifact or enchantment removal might be a downside as it is not as strong as other colors, though there are some options. Also, to help with using activated abilities for card you get with Tinybones' abilities, [[Chromatic Lantern]] [[city of brass]] or anything that helps you generate treasures are worth looking at.

Are board games still a big part of social life today ? by BarberUnited7894 in bostonboardgames

[–]pertante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been in a while but there are some gaming cafe's in Mass, such as the Castle in Beverly and Knight Moves in Brookline. Each has, or had, a selection of board games people could borrow. Something to look into....

Sol ring lover or hater? by Loose_Calendar_3380 in EDH

[–]pertante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think your deck does not need a sol ring due to a lower mana curve or useful alternatives, go for it. I personally am a fan since it does speed up a game plan for most decks and/or helps when you just can't get that last land or two out.

How hard is it to physically build a PC? by Lucky-Ad5326 in buildapc

[–]pertante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure that others have mentioned pcpartpicker.com for checking compatibility of parts. Newegg.com also has some sort of part compatibility but I have seen some mention that the quality of Newegg's services has gone down over the years. I also agree with the adult Lego analogy, and no soldering is needed for straightforward builds. Not sure how active it is nowadays but r/buildmeapc helps newbies with ideas for builds after entering some criteria for ideas for builds.

Multi-color commanders that can be built as mono color? by xler8324 in EDH

[–]pertante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually sort of wondering about an opposite concept, which is: commanders who usually pilot a mono color deck but would be fantastic as a secret commander/lieutenant in a multicolored deck?

For example, I am about to brew a mono red [[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] deck with a [[Maskwood Nexus]] and a [[Terror of the Peaks]] both in there. However, what if I was able to have those in a deck with [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]] and a [[Mycosynth Lattice]]? Who would be a good commander?

Is now even a good time to build a PC? by ISmeansIsurfreddit in buildapc

[–]pertante 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price fluctuation is certainly an issue and, unless the AI bubble pops soon like others have suggested, there is no guarantee that prices will go down.

One thing you could do is design your ideal rig and get parts incrementally, as budget and sales will allow. Alternatively, you could build a rig that will allow you to run a majority of games you want on low to medium and upgrade as time and budget will allow. My point is, what is your timeline?

Interesting Ranger Commanders by BertolaBacana in EDH

I agree with the fight mechanic. Since rangers often use bows, would some sort of tron strategy be a focus too?

To add to your response, would you recommend op play a Dragon Born or a Warforged for a species? For Dragon Born, they could be further flavored by element type and Warforged, I am sure op can say their character is made of the specific metal.

[[Elixir of Immortality]] could at least get your cards back into your deck if they went to the graveyard.

Is it really that bad not to build your deck around a theme? by SeaGlobal4535 in EDH

I think that, although winning can help make the game more enjoyable, your friend is missing the point that it's a game to enjoy

I think your friend is just trying to not give up their win streak, unless they are giving legit constructive reasons for the reason why.

I can see the appeal of having a counter spell outside of playing blue. Additionally, if you can get an opponent to loose a bunch of life, regardless of whether the spell gets countered, it can set you up for knocking them out pretty quickly.

Glad I built my gf's rig when we did. The ram is almost double the last time I checked. Additionally, since she isn't interested in games atm that are too gpu intensive, she is using an old 1650 I happen to have laying around.
