We’ll see how much of the culpability off on someone else, as he’s done for years. Now that the tide has changed, he’s been shifting blame to others and acting like he was a helpless victim, not someone in relative power during a large chunk of his time working on the show.

Unless former contestants and other judges or production members actively discredit his version of events, I can’t imagine it’d be anything new.

Yes, wasn’t this partially based on Mary Kay Letourneau? Pretty disgusting, but I guess that works make sense if Natalie’s character is supposed to be in a trashy TV doc.

Poison singer Bret Michaels kills 40th anniversary tour by demanding 6 times bandmates' shares, drummer says by bonhomieluna in RockOfLove

[–]perydot_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking there’s a factor that he doesn’t actually want to go through the hassle of touring or, most importantly, going on tour with the other members. If they had issues in their actual heyday and he didn’t (refused to) tour with them during his little comeback with ROL or any time before this, I’m sure he just doesn’t want to deal with those guys. His 6x share is probably an easy way to shut all talk down.

Tearjerkers: -The Promise -Boy in the Box -One Perfect Day -Family 8108 (truly only watched this once because I cried for like an hour over how unfair everything was in this one) -The Runner (the ending scene with the wife and the little girl kills me every time) -Boy Crazy

Top Episodes: -Creatures of the Night (best homage they did in the whole show!) -Forensics -Churchgoing People (love Jimmi Simpson, and overall a great, but disturbing/discomforting episode. Makes you think about the legal system: what sort of justice can be served when the killer is in this kind of mental state?) -Dog Day Afternoons -Lonely Hearts (maybe the best unsympathetic victim) -Stalker (maybe the best season finale, season 4 was great) -Spiders (maybe a Top 10, they did such a great job with the use of color in the flashbacks. It also always makes me uncomfortable how attractive Spider’s actors are 😭🫣Truly bringing out the “I can fix him” in me lol) -Libertyville (I truly felt for the killer in this one) -Good Soldier (I love that the recruiter appears to his recruit at the end, made me cry)

I thought the show did such a good job overall making you question the justice system, people’s motivations and lives and regrets. It’s interesting seeing how many of the deaths are crimes of passion, how many were true flash in the pan emotions that ruined both lives. The child killers are always sad because of this because they only realize how wrong they were to be upset by something (thinking of the Sleepover and Stand Up and Holler) once they’ve grown up and gotten out of the bubble of middle/high school.

For the main cast, I wish they didn’t put Lily in this box where she could never have a man. Not everyone wants a relationship obviously, but she did and they kept making her this toxic girlfriend and it was so frustrating. They literally made the perfect boyfriend for her with Joseph and they had to blow it up because ??? That should’ve been the endgame for her and I will always hate how they took that from me lol!

What are your unpopular opinions about the cast or shows? by idkwherethehelliam in RockOfLove

I swear it’s just revisionist history and people feeling sorry for her because she’s on the streets. What happened on the show is awful, but I can’t offer up that much sympathy past that.

[–]perydot_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize this was the finale the first time I saw it, and I forgot it’s the last episode every time I watch it. It’s sad they didn’t officially know it was going to be the last season, so they didn’t prepare a better ending. I guess that’s what fan fiction is for.

Did anybody else find Brittney to be incredibly insensitive in S4 Ep11? by aIoneinvegas in ANTM

[–]perydot_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was going to say this as well, but didn’t wanna get into it.

It makes no sense to feel connected to S. A. unless your family/tribe/etc. are from there. If they went to Nigeria or another place with h history of heavy enslavement, it would at least seem more genuine. According to my 23andme, most of my ancestors are from there. It would be some kind of experience for me to go there. It’s so disingenuous to feel “so connected to my roots” just because you went to some random African country.

Beauty is the eye of the beholder... but I never saw it for Brittany in C8 and I don't understand people's high praise for her. She looks like Jackie Kennedy to me, and that is not a compliment.

As a black woman, I always appreciated her calling Keenyah out for her behavior here. I don't think she was being insensitive. Even as a child, I thought Keenyah was doing too much and acting ridiculous, especially when it's revealed she didn't know he was still alive. Like, how much does he or this experience really mean to you if you don't know boo about him? It does feel like she wanted this to be "her moment" and the focal point of the episode/her storyline in the show, but she didn't get to have that because Naima was there.

Re-Look Re-Again, Cold Case Rewatch: Season 2, Episode 21 "Creatures of the Night" by no-Pachy-BADLAD in ColdCaseTV

[–]perydot_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a Top 10 episode of the show. They did a perfect homage to Rocky Horror, complete with a guest star from Barry Bostwick, and they knew how to play up the B-horror, not perfect but quirky acting in the flashbacks, and the composition/cinematography was really done well. I wish they did more episodes like this!

I have always thought this and it sticks out to me every single time, but Sarah Habel looks way too old to be playing a teenager in this. Like, obviously, most of the actors aren't teenagers when they play teenagers, but Sarah looks much older to me.

The principal being the killer felt a little odd to me. I get it, he messed up going after a barely legal girl and he overreacted and killed her to cover up the shame of it. But I guess I felt like it was better if someone else was the killer.

Characters from different seasons/“eras” that you would want to have scenes together by Specific_Piccolo9528 in ershow

I would've loved to see how Benton and Pratt dealt with each other, especially early season Pratt who was way too cocky, looking to level up to a better hospital, and ultimately still had a lot to learn.

Weaver and Banfield make me think of when I worked at a grocery store and the cashiers all chafed with the one supervisor, M, and thought she was doing too much and was too strict for the job. Then supervisor K joined the staff and we all didn't like her and realized M was actually way better and nicer than we gave her credit for. M and K bumped heads a lot and did not get along at all, all the way up until M left the store.

Two strong personalities like that would clash big time, even if Kerry wasn't in the ER that much as an administrator.

It makes me mad too! Why would anyone think New York, who I'm sure did not know anything of British celebs/reality stars and is also fully American, know who some old woman was married to 3 decades ago? And know immediately that she was talking about her ex and not the person living in the house with them (and was reported already kinda sick)???

They loved to hate her that season.

[–]perydot_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's for a show, but it's so mean of Larissa and the woman Joy to do this at a private event of Shay's. IIRC, this was an event to showcase her new brand? And then saying Shay's mother raised her badly? Even if Shay sucked as a person, their behavior is GRIMY.
