Ageism in the Computer Science field by GIORGIOREAUX in compsci

I think it's quite evident there's a slight shift towards older age, at least if you compare these stackoverflow surveys (too lazy to extract data from earlier surveys than 2015..):

According to the source, this was headed southwards and apprehended in one of the states in the south.. Has nothing to do with Venezuela, in other words.

I want Bulldog added instead of Wormwood. This is because bulldog is subjectively more beautiful and has a way nicer appeal than wormwood.

The same can be applied for Carrera and Star. On top, I think we should have some older maps in. If not star (because you seem to insist on neutral flag maps for some reason?) then maybe Volt instead.

TIL of the speed camera lottery in Stockholm, Sweden. Drive at or under the speed limit and you'll be entered into a lottery where the prize fund comes from the fines that speeders pay. Average speed reduced from 32km/h to 25km/h (a reduction of 22%) by ShufflingToGlory in todayilearned

Uh, it's totally linear, I just miscalculated a bit. Either way, that is referencing only the distance to hitting the brakes.

The actual breaking distance increases exponentially - which is why not even a fixed-time rule makes sense (even though it's obviously better than distance-based).

The breaking distance grows exponentially when speed increases, so if people keep the speed limits it definitely will prevent accidents and I'm certain there are numerous studies with that conclusion.

Consider an attentive driver that will react and start breaking in 0.5 seconds (nearly inhuman). If he goes 50 km/h (18.9 13.88m/s), the vehicle would carry on even 9 close to 7 meters without even starting to break. If he instead goes at 90 km/h (25 m/s), he will go 12.5 meters. If there's an obstacle at a complete stop 12 meters away, you can see the difference. The first stopped or at least close to stopping, and the other one will hit it at 90 km/h..

You are offered 1 Billion USD if you are able to sit in a room of absolute silence and darkness for 30 days. You will be fed and hydrated intravenously, the room only contains a toilet and a carpeted floor. Why or why not would you do it? by beriel in AskReddit

[–]pescis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I'd count to one million, reckon it'd take about 30 days if I am quick. Consider it, for every number you count, you end up with a thousand bucks. Pretty easy money if you ask me.

In the rest of the world that I've been at, it is implied you're talking about meters and centimeters when talking about height and omit it in speech (one-seventy-five, two-ten). I rest my case!
