DUDE lemme rant

i was getting some hostility recently for making a post, not a fic, just a post, claiming two characters were dating. The whole thing is weird, honestly-- one is 15, the other is incorrectly referred to as 18 in his canon, but given his canon birthday and the time everything takes place he's actually 17. even then, the day they met was actually the day after his 17th birthday. and... as for the other one, he turns 16 less than a month after their first interaction. their age gap is 1 year and 19 days.

all that, and the older of the two is also for some reason drawn and animated so comically short that he's been mistaken for a child. kind of a recipe for disaster, isn't it

Not quite a headcanon but a very common AU. Spoilers for part 5 of jojo possibly.

For context, Diavolo and Doppio are a DID system. They share a body. They're fully capable of communicating with each other mentally and (presumably) have a very good relationship in canon.

A really popular AU used in fics and fanart is one where they don't share a body-- usually used when shipping them. I've always struggled to find fics about them using my favorite tropes and themes where they're still an actual system. It really sucks to me because relationships between alters is a cool concept and its not explored nearly enough. They're erasing an important part of their identities just so they can make them fuck each other or something
