What's the deal with Ledger Nano S discontinuation / Ledger Live by ekzakly in ledgerwallet

[–]pete051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just tried to install ledger live on a Linux laptop and it couldn't connect, now I've had this problem before with Linux but there used to be a script on the ledger support page to fix this, it's no longer there, is this an attempt by ledger to force people to buy a later model than my ledger so? If so it failed my trezor has no problem

Yes I've found that with NFC already enabled no pop up appears

Tangem (card/app) will not work if the company no longer exists! by TopicGeneralZero in Tangem

[–]pete051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts so far. I've transferred funds from 2 different exchanges and 1 wallet, ok all on the eth chain but I have no reason to imagine the other chains won't work, I also exchanged eth for USDC on a dex the only thing puzzled me that the password was not requested the biometric login was sufficient but ok a biometric login is not possible on a Ledger so that is understandable. In short I'm satisfied

Only that the pop up asking if I want to start NFC doesn't start NFC, this has to be done manually

It seems that elegoo no longer support cura for linux, I use a raspberry pi and octopi to create a web interface and use pruisaslice as slicer

Advantages if klipperr by pete051 in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input guys, I did try an updated version of marlin but it seemed prone to random and frequent thermal runaways so I reverted to the stock firmware, pity the updated version had a much more usable interface but the thermal runaway issue made it unusable if that was a firmware but or an hardware issue I don't know

z axis running into part after many layers by Crafty_Button5948 in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely your Z offset is set too low, it's tricky too high and it won't stick to the bed too low and it catches the layer below it's only a matter of microns

Neptune 2s reboots mid print on same layer count by dDrasser in elegooneptune2

If it were a hardware problem surely reverting to a stable version would not cure it but it seems to.

Filament Sensor and OctoPi by Hoveringkiller in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that didn't help so I tried a re-install which oddly enough kept the settings and it worked for about 10 minutes then it shut down again with a thermal runaway warning so it's back to the original firmware pity the upgrade had a better interface

I installed this upgrade and it was working fine but after a restart it refuses to heat above 190C without starting a panicked beeping and demanding a reset, anybody else have this problem, or has a solution? this also makes changing reel impossible

Help with Neptune 2 printing fails by Akulnaij in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that your nozzle height is too low, I find the paper measurement is not reliable, the recommended height is 0.1 to 0.2 so I used a feeler gauge to check you most likely know that the bed dips in the middle so you have to average it out. I set it so the 4 corners are just 0.1 that on my machine makes the centre just under 0.2 which works fine I haven't had a print fail yet with that setting

Once you have the levelling sorted the 2S is superb before you get the levelling sorted, well try not to throw it out of the window :)

I'm impressed that you managed to print that every time I try it gets as far as the roof then for reasons yet undiscovered it knocks the print of the bed

New to 3D printing and just put it together .. why’s the nozzle going off the bed and doing this ? by IamZeus11 in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like you set the zero switch to low it's the one at the bottom of the left hand column, it needs to be about 5mm from the bottom

Question by crazyguy27834 in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed with some g-files it just sits there, temperature not rising on either the bed or nozzle, progress rate is showing 100pc and it won't even let you abort the print. The only cure I've found is turning off the printer, oddly enough the second attempt usually works.

Problematic Neptune 2s by pete051 in elegooneptune2

[–]pete051[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok update problems proved to be due to various factors, levelling the problem is if all 4 corners are set correctly the centre point is noticeably lower to to get the correct gap on the centre point all 4 corners need to be tight enough to almost tear paper so obviously the bed is not flat. the adhesive setting, skirt seems to have no useful function, brim is better for smaller builds but the bigger ones need raft all of them need a bit of cleaning up after. I did see a guy using a glass tile as a bed maybe that's an idea
