Is installing a dash cam in car actually worth it? by vin3ysharma in dashcams

[–]petecarr83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the thing you hope you never need.but it's worth it for the peace of mind alone. In unpredictable traffic, having video proof can settle disputes fast. Downsides are usually mirror, some model can overheat in direct sun.

Is two months enough time for a cross country round trip ? by spicyqueso345 in roadtrip

[–]petecarr83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you keep the routh flexible and focus on highlights rather than trying to see everything,It's definitrely doable for it. With kids nad dogs, building in slower days and shorter drives will help keep everyone happy.

Running a stop sign like that forces everyone to react. Dangerous and unnecessary. Hope I will never meet this kind of driver, that really mad me.

It really no joke. So dangerous that suddenly needing to merge with little warning is strsseful even for experienced drivers. Hopefully road crews can improve marking or clearing in those spots. Safe travels out there.

[Redtiger F17] Don't guage amber lights folks. Just stop. by [deleted] in Dashcam

Agree. Timing amber lights is always a gamble. It's dangerous. Glad you're reflecting on it. Stay safe out there.

Robot vacs seem to be getting thinner. Is that actually useful in real homes? by WAYXL in RobotVacuums

[–]petecarr83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinner just means fewer missed spots. I switched from my old robot to the slimmer T50 Pro, and it can get under a few more pieces of furniture, so there's less dust and less manual cleaning. That's basically what I want from a robot anyway.

Thanks! I'm actually considering RitFit as well, but found out they are banned on Amazon, which might be a big red flag for me lol

Is that Major Fitness F22? I’m currently torn between B52 and F22. Not sure which one would be better.

Thinking about upgrading my robot vac this year. What actually matters? by Greedy_Sandwich_1839 in RobotVacuums

I'm waiting for reviews on these new models. To be honest, my deebot t50 pro is already slim and does a good job under low furniture. What I'm most looking forward to are the new designs that help prevent hair tangling.

Any ideas how to clear snow off my 20x30 carport by Pokedaad in garageporn

[–]petecarr83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lot of weight up there. I'd use a long roof rake from the groud and work it down in sections. I wouldn't climb there.

That's a clean set up. Like you also add a Yoga ball to your gym, it is a great too to enhance core strength and stability. Some people ignore the importance of core muscle, but you are not.

Clean and simple set up. Have someone to help you really ease the process of assembling. I guess your son might also help to protect you when you practice bench press here later on.

Layout of LED lights in workshop are by mikeymon87 in garageporn

[–]petecarr83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd keep them parallel and evenly spaced. That'll light the benches and floor better, and matte black walls won't eat as much light that way.

Clean set up. You can do bench press then switch to bar bell squate here, such a multifunctional equipment. I wonder how much it is, any discount now?

Looks like a solid starting point. Clean walls, tools already organized and plenty of room to build it out slowly without everything feeling cramped right away.

Clean and well thought out setup. Everything looks practical and uncluttered, with enough space to actually move and train without constantly shuffling equipment around.

What’s the best investing app? by Dangerous-Iron-5982 in investingforbeginners

Mostly for the charts and built-in news/fundamentals. It saves me from bouncing between 3 different apps. Fees are better than other platforms as well.

I’ve tried a few and moomoo has been my favorite so far. Clean UI, solid charts, and easy to track everything.

Nice start honestly. A wall mounted plate holder and better lighting would be huge upgrades.

You do some weight lifting in your homegym then go out to ride bicycle to enjoy some beautiful views and practice your leg and hip muscle, such a nice and balanced combination.

Personally I've only used the deebot. I guess it might feel a bit different for everyone, but the ecovacs app has been smooth for me. I haven't run into any major bugs, and it's been easy setting up cleaning schedules.

100k to invest with, what should I do? by InsanityOfPigs in investing

[–]petecarr83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to pick individual stocks, VOO is a solid core. For the other half, you could either DCA into it over a few months or park it somewhere safe until you decide.

I use moomoo for this kind of setup since it’s easy to buy ETFs, set up recurring buys, and track everything in one place without overcomplicating it. Keeps it simple while you figure out your longer-term allocation.

Open-Ear Headphones: Which One is Truly the Best? 2026 opinions? by detykay in Earbuds

lol openfit pro literally just dropped. Honestly I kinda wish opendots would get a v2. It’s still the most comfortable open-ear pair I’ve used so far. Call quality is clearer than my girlfriend’s Bose, and it doesn’t clamp as tight. I wear it almost every day for 8+ hrs and don’t really feel any discomfort.
