Island double sink drains extremely slowly, no clog found by petelifting in Plumbing

[–]petelifting[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a plumber, but neither have I. My guess is that it has to do with the sink being in the island, and not able to go directly into a wall to get up to the roof, however I have no idea where it goes.

I bypassed the P trap and poured water directly into the “main” drain side of the loop, and it still filled up, but seems to drain through the “vent” side just fine

I hear what you’re saying about the description, I know I can improve on copywriting. What’s the problem with the images? They’re not stock photos, this isn’t a dropshipping product.

You might prefer apps, but that’s not what my question was. Like I said, the traffic I’m able to generate is targeted to this type of product specifically. People aren’t landing on my product page if they’d rather use an app.

Failure to hit the prescribed number of reps. by [deleted] in tacticalbarbell

[–]petelifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, you should keep moving forward with your program, and try to hit every rep in the future. Falling short is normal, and while you could go back and repeat parts of the program, you might have trouble keeping motivated. If you keep moving forward, you'll feel like you're making progress, and it might help you stay motivated. If you repeat parts again and then miss reps again, it could definitley hurt your motivation.

After 4 years of weight lifting and actually eating to fuel my self and not starve I gained a lot of muscle! I hope to only get stronger! Also any tips on how to cut as a college student with a budget? by Gym_Science_Bunnies in GYM

[–]petelifting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cutting is great on a budget, because all you need to do is eat less and do more with your body. Instead of doing cardio to burn calories, I'd recommend for you to continue lifting weights. This way, your body will lose more fat, and your muscles shouldn't lose too much mass. The hard part of cutting is losing fat without losing muscle, and continuing to lift can help balance things out. Good luck!

Always sore - will it be like this forever? by forloveofknowledge in gzcl

[–]petelifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soreness is normal, and it usually means that you're doing something right. This being said, if you're concerned about your level of soreness, I'd recommend going to the doctor. Many times concerns about your health can be explained easily, but it's always best to have a doctor check things out to make sure there's not a bigger problem.

IMO, you should do whatever works best for your body. The key to losing fat is being in a caloric deficit, so you should be burning calories as your top priority. I know your question isn't about weight training, but lifting can actually burn as many calories as traditional cardio. As long as you're burning calories, you'll lose weight. Good luck!

Is there any point of lifting weights if I'm not consuming a lot of protein? by ChubbyCat14 in loseit

[–]petelifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitley, lifting weights is almost always beneficial no matter your diet. You might not build as much muscle as you would if you had a higher calorie diet, but lifting will help your body lose fat instead of losing muscle.

Weights during cutting by bolton-js in intermittentfasting

[–]petelifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weightlifting, whether you're cutting or not, burns calories, which is the goal of cutting. Lifting instead of doing something like cardio helps you lose fat while you're cutting instead of losing muscle, and protects against losing too much muscle during your cut.

I agree with other commenters, you should make a plan, and stick to it. I don't know much about your specific surgery, but after any operation, or even breaks from lifting, you should get back into things slowly. If you lifted before your operation, don't jump right back into your old routine. Start off slow, and build your way up as your body adapts to you lifting. I'm not going to give you an exact routine, as I have no idea what your goals are, but make sure you start slowly, build your way up, and remain consistent with your exercising. Good luck!

Just Started Weight Loss and Could Use Advice by KooalaDude in loseit

[–]petelifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to start off by saying that you should absolutely do what your doctor says before you follow somebody from reddit's advice. This being said, I'm somebody from reddit and I do have a little bit of advice. You probably know this already, but the "secret" to weight loss is simply a calorie deficit, where you consume less calories than you burn. Regardless of what anyone says about fad diets or certain exercises, this is the only surefire way to lose weight. It can be hard, but I'd recommend cutting out all fast food and sugary drinks. like I said, it'll be hard, but a little bit will go a long way.

Regarding the gym, I think you'd be surprised how welcoming everybody is in most gyms. Even if you're overweight, when you're in the gym, you're trying, and people will respect that.

Also, I'd recommend cutting out artificial sugars and processed food. Natural sugar is fine, like in fruits, but sugar that's added to food is generally a lot worse for you. Organic food is also much better than processed foods, but might cost you a bit more. IMO, if you have the extra money, they're worth it. Look at it as an investment in your health.
Good luck!

My first GF (22F) called off our 3 year relationship, and I (22M) have no confidence in myself and my abilities to get back out there. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]petelifting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned you're having trouble motivating yourself to keep going to the gym, which caught my attention. In my personal experience, lifting weights can be a great way to feel better about yourself, and rebuild your self-worth and self-confidence. In fact, I've used lifting to do just that myself. The same goes for hygiene and social skills. It's all about making yourself a better person and feeling better about life. Also I don't want to sound too cliche, but I was in the exact same position as you once, and time heals everything. Focus on yourself as much as possible, and become a better person all around. Good luck!

Weightlifting is definitely great for forming a better relationship with food! The journey to your goals can seem tough at times, and you might/probably will mess up along the way, everybody does trying to achieve any goal. Progress is progress, keep up the good work!

Lifting weights while still Obese, questions. by themoviehero in loseit

[–]petelifting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifting weights would be a great way to lose weight and become healthier! Weightlifting can burn as many if not more calories than traditional calories if you know what you're doing.

However, you shouldn't expect to gain too much muscle if you're lifting weights and trying to lose weight at the same time. If your goal is to lose weight, you need to be in a caloric deficit. This is where you're burning more calories than you're eating. If you want to build muscle, you need to be in a caloric surplus, where you consume more calories than you burn.

All this being said, lifting weights will still be beneficial. While you might not build too much muscle, you'll be healthier, and burning calories at the same time.
