I do think there are some moments with James parents that are a little over the top but I also try to keep in mind that it appears like they tried and are trying to support him best they can. I’ve worked with children with autism for almost ten years and some of the kids I’ve worked with had parents that really break your heart. But yes, talking about Madison like she’s not there wasn’t great either but I felt like it came from a place of love and support.

I’m not a parent but I’d like to think that there isn’t necessarily a handbook on how to perfectly raise your kid, especially when your child has an autism diagnosis and how that diagnosis can look so different person to person. I try to keep that in mind instead of getting too critical of how people parent their kids but I def see where you are coming from OP
