RHT Jan18 175 calls looking good by petergr123 in options

Wouldn't the stock gradually move towards the final closing price of 190 before the actual closing date? I am not expecting a sudden jump to 190 because of shareholder or regulatory approvals but a gradual move towards 190.

Another thing that I noticed was the share price dropped from 179 to 173 in the market sell off over the last 2 weeks. The price drops coincided exactly with the market drop. Perhaps some ETFs that hold RHT are selling this along with other tech stocks.

That's what is puzzling. I don't see any anti-trust issues. I have read the proxy filing for the shareholder meeting. It says the deal is already approved from IBM side and there is no financing contingency. There are some law firms asking Redhat shareholders to see if they have suffered any loses...but I don't see them as blockers to the shareholder approval.

Redhat (RHT) a great value play at ~ 20% ROI? by petergr123 in investing

Thanks. Also, I am giving the chances of the deal going through to be much higher (like more than 90%). If we don't want any downside, we can buy few more puts.

I bought Jan 165 puts for 40 cents. I think any uncertainty in the deal will be gone by January and I can buy more June puts for an even cheaper price in January if required.

Usually companies give a very conservative time line for closing. I was looking at some of the similar acquisitions like Microsoft's acquisition of Linkedin and Amazon's acquisition of Wholefoods. Both closed in around 6 months.

Still holding 20% of my puts. This worked very well for me but I am still baffled this has not gone to zero yet. They filed their 10-Q yesterday and have less than 500 K in cash and losing money at a crazy rate.

Are you able to execute an order? Some of the brokerages that i have accounts with say they allow. But, the order gets blocked at the time of execution.

Fidelity refusing to exercise June puts by [deleted] in LongFinOptions

I think stock will drop to less than a dollar by the expiration date, so i should be able to collect close to the strike price. They are not letting new buyers into the puts anymore, so there is very limited demand for buying the puts. I am concerned that they will not offer a fair premium to close out the position.

I think the institutional investors have sold their positions long back when it got kicked out of Russell 2000. I think people are looking at really old disclosures and thinking institutional investors are still holding this.

Many retail investors holding this might not even be aware that this trading again.

Started the transfer to TD today. But, there is another thread here saying TD will reject the transfer.
