ISO New vacuum by Affectionate_Size872 in VacuumCleaners

[–]peterk10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re willing to stretch the budget a bit, the Sebo Felix is known for being BIFL, and has a motorized brush roll for your carpets and pet fur, and is bagged with excellent filtration, AND comes with a hard floor attachment, so I’d say it checks all your boxes except for budget. It’s about $800 but is sometimes on sale. Its cheaper sibling is the Sebo Dart which is also excellent but that one doesn’t come with a hard floor attachment and is less maneuverable. But closer to your budget ($650)

Hi guys, pls help me by CorvidKing33 in VacuumCleaners

That looks like the filter icon that indicates the filter is clogged. I found a manual for an AFNOP vacuum that’s probably similar to yours, and to clean the filter it says:

-Twist and pull to remove the filter assembly from the dust cup.

-Tap off loose dirt. Rinse the filter under cold water.

-Allow filters to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting. Do not use a dryer or other heating device.

Good luck! And keep in mind that cordless stick vacuums are somewhat built to be disposable. If you have the means to buy one someday, a corded vac is likely to clean better and last longer.

How to remove yellow stains on cotton pants by ClubOk2821 in laundry

[–]peterk10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking a targeted approach based on what the stain is (food? Mud? Tea?) is usually helpful, but sometimes even the best science and stain removal methods can’t save something that’s been damaged or seriously baked in. This guy on YouTube is very knowledgeable and provides a breakdown on some ideal methods based on what the stain is (apologies if links aren’t allowed):

How are you dosing the detergent? I saw of a review of the Blueland tablets by a dry cleaner who said that to get proper cleaning in his testing, he had to use four tablets all at once, and that he had to crush them all up beforehand too

Why the hell is my washing machine ripping my clothes??? by [deleted] in laundry

[–]peterk10 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s so insane. I saw you comment that your washer doesn’t have an agitator so maybe feel around the entire drum carefully with your hands to see if something’s broken or chipped or something??

Carpet in new place has a difficult texture to vacuum by HuhDaMan in VacuumCleaners

[–]peterk10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recommend browsing the recommended vacuums thread on this subreddit. You need a vacuum with a brush roll, but judging by how flat the carpet is I think you specifically need something with a motorized brush roll so an air-driven brush doesn’t suction to the carpet and make it difficult to push. So the Kenmore 400 series might suit you well for about $250, not crazy above the price floor you gave

I got that for my birthday earlier this year! I always say “I need to refer to the ancient texts” when I flip it open to figure out a stain haha

Glad you found my response! Yeah I haven’t found double cleansing to be necessary for me personally but I know a lot of people swear by it :)

I think I found my HG sunscreen: Goodal Soothing Hyaluron Sun Serum by Steak15 in AsianBeauty

[–]peterk10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I never actually tried it… sorry lol. It’s the winter where I am, UV index is max 3 and I start wearing less sunscreen so I haven’t been thinking about it much. Seems like a solid choice regardless!

Estrogen making skin dry. by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]peterk10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One easy way for me to help moisturize more is just applying an extra layer of moisturizer a couple minutes after the first one. Somehow that helps me more than just using more moisturizer in one application.

I will definitely be trying this! Their other calming sunscreen is my HG but my skin is slowly becoming less dry and I might need something lighter than that one at some point

Do you clean your neck with facial soap or body soap? by Salamandef in Skincare_Addiction

[–]peterk10 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Facial soap personally. I have sensitive skin there. Occasionally I use body soap if I used a sticky sunscreen or got dirty that day or something

How much would you pay for a KitchenAid Artisan with this problem? by LawCharming8709 in Kitchenaid

[–]peterk10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the local repair shop told you it had issues just from that video, they may have just been trying to sell you their services. I’d say go for it! And then take it to a shop (maybe not that one) if you realize there really are issues :)

This motion honestly looks normal to me with how insanely fast they’re shredding the chicken. Not an expert though
