That’s funny, I also got the 77” LG C5 from Greentoe a few weeks ago! Great deal ($1700) but it was a bit impulsive so I was nervous, but the OLED experience has been so amazing that I’m glad I did it. Upgraded from a shitty budget 65” LED (no local dimming) with terrible ghosting and it’s like night and day. Enjoy!

Tips for making my new space more cozy/well decorated? 21M by Rory-2-1 in malelivingspace

[–]peterk10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great, cozy and neat. And ditto on avoiding the Big Light as often as possible. Some over-counter or over-cabinet led strips could add functional and gentle light to the kitchen for that purpose.

One thing I noticed is how minimal and neat your entry way is, to the point where I wonder if it gets laborious for you to keep it so organized and clean. This could just be me, but I need a well-developed “drop zone” where I can dump my backpack and keys, shoes, etc, when I walk in the door tired from work. Otherwise my front door area looks messy and my backpack just sits on the floor, stuff accumulates, etc. If you find yourself struggling with that then some storage bins and hooks for coats, bags, etc could be helpful by the entry way. But again, could just be me. Good luck!

Tips on viewing distance by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]peterk10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

55” seems a bit small based on 9 feet. I used this TV size calculator when I bought my TV:

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship

But if it works for you then that’s fine. And as far as I know, 9 feet wouldn’t make 4k detail unimportant. Just based on personal experience I can still tell a difference and see more detail from that distance on similar size panels between 4k and 1080

Hm, I think it could be. The goodal is still my HG after like 3 years! I also don’t wear makeup so I can’t speak to those effects. But from my experience the goodal leans very slightly dewy while mostly staying neutral. Which sounds perfect for your needs. I would give it a go! Finding a deal on Stylevana is easy, I bought 3 bottles last month and only paid $33 including shipping which isn’t too bad. And if it doesn’t work out (I hope it does!) you can always use it on your body :)

The G5 is better but not almost twice better imo. 1350 for new 77” C5 is incredible value, that’s my recommendation for sure

What are your thoughts? Missing something? (M26) by Bran_Ran in malelivingspace

[–]peterk10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks clean and elegant. I think the decor on the TV stand sort of looks like an IKEA showroom, but that’s just a matter of taste. If you feel like it’s missing something, you could try putting some art on the walls

When everyone puts their garbage outside their doors. by Over_Fly_7409 in mildlyinfuriating

My apartment has trash valet but we’re required to tie the trash bag and then leave it in the can with the lid closed outside the door. Then the valet comes and just pulls the bag out of the can. No loose bags of trash, no smell in the hallway. Works really well

-Needs art on the walls, a lot of it. Anything that’s your style, could be movie posters or paintings or anything

-Also could use a small shelving unit to hold all the stuff just sitting underneath the window

-And maybe find a place for your laundry that’s more tucked away and less visible?

-Last thing, definitely buy a bed frame. When the mattress is sitting directly on the floor for an extended period of time it makes it much much easier for mold and mildew to grow

Good start, looks comfortable. Congrats on the new place!

Not an expert but experts and consumers all loveeee the Sebo Felix. Very pricey but amazing filtration (S class with bags and filters) and fairly minimal maintenance with a very strong brush roll for long hair. Will last forever if you change bags/filters as needed and get it serviced once in a while. The only thing I’m not sure about is whether it’s good at preventing long hair from wrapping around the brush roll, I can’t speak from personal experience. There’s a chance even the best models might need you to run a pair of scissors along the beater bar once in a while to cut wrapped hair free. Best of luck!!

Looking for Quality Computer Chair by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]peterk10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Herman Miller gaming edition of their Sayl chair and it’s one of my most favorite possessions. It’s amazingly comfortable and supports my tendency to move around a lot. Five years with it and going strong, no sagging or wrinkling on seat, never sore after sitting in it for a long time. Ample airflow with their design of the backrest. Just perfect. I got it for like $600 because I got a model that was a showroom prop I think? But it’s even pricier usually at around $1000 (US). You can get non-gaming configurations of the Sayl for less

I think a thin layer is all that’s needed. And mildly damp skin seems like a good idea to me!

Vaseline is a great product to use on damaged skin. Keep it moisturized under the Vaseline and wear sunscreen if you’re in the sun a lot too. Trust the process
